COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lovers of strong beer need not worry that ERDINGER Weissbier Pikantus 'dark bock beer' is going to be too sweet, as is the case with so many bock beers. Despite the higher alcohol content, the Erding brew masters have succeeded in retaining the special Pikantus taste.

A yeasty and mushy and fresh tasting brew. I would like to try this on draft with a nice red meat dish. From what I remember of the regular dunkel, I don’t recall any real difference.

Bottle from Market Street in Allen, TX. Pours a dark hazy brown with ruby/orange hue’s. Aroma of dark roast with alcohol with some ester profiles. Flavor is very nice, some dark roast mixed with some fruit and alcohol spice with nice malt backbone. Mouthfeel is medium and soft, med-high carbonation. Overall, very enjoyable.

Pours a dark color with minimal head. The flavor is of malts and some citrus as well. The finish is not overly sweet, but plenty so.

Dark brown with a thick, bubbly head and very active carbonation. Rich fruity malt nose wit ha touch of wheat graininess. Flavor is robust, slightly tangy malt with a soft, subtle bitter hop finish. A great beer.

Cloudy brown with coffee head. Aromas of coffee and banana. More banana in the taste with sweet chocolate, yeast on chewy malt. Finish is fruity and on the sweet side. Good body.

(Drank on 4/11/04) Smooth and silky, with a thick, oily like body, it has some mild coffee with a good presence of malts.

500 ml bottle poured a hazy copper brown with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, banana, clove and light citrus. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, clove, light banana and a hint of citrus with a smooth semisweet finish.

Light brown color , faint malty aroma. Nice malty flavor with alcohol nicely masked. My bottle was a little flat.

Have had many a good German beer, so I was somewhat let down by this one. The fruity aroma was appealing and it forms a nice brownish colored head. The taste was average and it had to much carbination. It was similar to drinking root beer.
