Lovers of strong beer need not worry that ERDINGER Weissbier Pikantus 'dark bock beer' is going to be too sweet, as is the case with so many bock beers. Despite the higher alcohol content, the Erding brew masters have succeeded in retaining the special Pikantus taste.

Source:500 mL bottle from Liquor Barn.
Glass:Pilsener Urquell glass.
Appearance:To describe this beer as muddy looking doesn’t do mud very much justice. This is the ruddiest looking brown color I’ve ever seen...I LIKE IT.
Aroma:Dark fruits, cloves and some earthy hops dominate the nose.
Flavor:Flavor is a little mellow. Some dark fruits, caramel and chocolate are all present, but in muted amounts.
Palate:Medium bodied with solid carbonation.
Overall:Very good beer, but it doesn’t quite hang with Aventinus and the likes in depth of flavor, and overall amount of flavor. Still, very well done.

Aroma a trigo y cereal tostado principalmente.

Where Purchased: 500ml bottle from the LCBO part of the Erdinger Winter mixer pack. Consumed: from an Erdinger wheat glass (poured the correct way) Aroma: Smells slightly fruity and sweet with a hint of flowers. Appearance : unfiltered medium to dark brown with thick sticky head that lasts to the end. Very sticky lacing. Some yeast floating around. Taste: very well balanced. Just a bit too sweet and no sign of hops. Palate : medium body. Malty sweet aftertaste. Great carbonation. Overall: Such a well balanced and easy drinking beer. Not as carbonated as Erdinger Blonde or Brown, but still very good. Would never guess it was so high in ABV other then when you get up. This was about perfect. I was glad to try and will definatley buy again. MB. The Beer "Bear"on.

Beige big not long lasting almost creamy head. Murky dark brown beer. Smell of sweet malt, dried fruits, ripe banana, alcohol, yeast, cinnamon and chocolate. Its quite complex. Flavour is first malty sweet, ripe banana and something i can not tell. Medium bitter and a average long lasting finish. Carbonation is very present and surprising considering the style. Hides alcohol very well.

500ml bottle from RusBeerShop. Pours dark brown with a large off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, raisins. Taste is sweet, brown sugar, caramel, bananas. Creamy mouthfeel. It’s decent, but I prefer my Weizenbocks a little lighter in colour.

Pours very unclear, darker brown. Small layer of white foam. Smell is a bit spiced, bit darker malts. Mild milkchocolate aromas. Some phenols. very low levels of esthers. Taste is full, creamy, sweet, mild esthers (banana ) , not overruling the whole. Nice body, rather low carbo. Relatively high phenols. Very decent.
