With a slightly darker color and slightly higher alcohol content than the classic ERDINGER Weissbier 'with fine yeast', the 'winter brew' offers a really pleasant change at the coldest time of the year, a time when we like to treat ourselves to something special. Available between November and February.

Bottle at Hanne på høyden, Bergen. Dark straw-coloured, hazy. Thin frothy off-white head. Light aromas of sweet grain. More of this in the mouth and banana sweetness. Hint of hops. Thin, watery and silky mouthfeel. Some slick. Not much that reminds of christmas in this beer. An okay weizen.

50cl bottle, BBE 06/2012. Poured hazy orange with a typical white head for this style. Light aroma of wheat and some grain. Flavor is similar, wheat and hint of yeast. Lacks the spiciness and fruitiness usually find in hefeweizens. Very easy to drink though, refreshing.

Pours a cloudy straw yellow with a big frothy white head. Aroma of mild banana and wheat. Taste is a great wheat full bodied beer with some yeast and banana although more subdued than their regular offering. Glad I muled this one home.

Rating #668, flaske hos Amer

09-DEC-2011, bottle @home. Cloudy orange with lasting white head. Yeasty nose with clove and banana. Taste much the same with a bready caramelly addition. Nice creaminess, just a hint of tartness, no real bitterness.

0.5 l bottle. Mild clove, pepper and vanilla aroma with honeyish malt. The flavor is fairly balaced betweeen clovey spiciness and honeyish bready maltiness. Some soft alcohol is coming through giving the impresssion a bit higher alcohol weizen. Tastes like a blend of märtzen and weizen, not highly complex but still very pleasant and drinkable.

Bottle. Pours orangey yellow. Cloudy with white head. Like standard Erdinger if a little heavier (maltier). Typical hefe notes of banana and clove. Delious.

Pours cloudy orange with a high foam. Very typical in the hefeweizen category. Aroma wheats. Taste slightly fruity with some banana. Very typical wheat beer. Not Bad.
