COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With a slightly darker color and slightly higher alcohol content than the classic ERDINGER Weissbier 'with fine yeast', the 'winter brew' offers a really pleasant change at the coldest time of the year, a time when we like to treat ourselves to something special. Available between November and February.

Hazy orange colored pour. Big off-white head that slowly falls and leaves some lacing behind. Big aroma of malty bananas. Taste is the same. Dry finish of malt and bananas. Not bad, a bit different than the regular hefe.

Demens (500) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 8, 2017
0,5l bottle. Hazy deep golden/dark orange colour with long lasting bif fluffy and creamy white head. Aroma: Marcipan, cherry and slight banana and dough notes. Taste: Has a quite malty start but without the sweet tones, has slightly sourish caracter too and a light bitter mouthfeel. With each and an other sip the whole caracter feels a bit weaker and gets a mediocre sourish/bitter feel. Has a light silky texture. Medium body with medium carbonation. Medium lasting. lightly bitter, flat finish.

Bottle from Alko. Hazy dark yellow with strong nature white head. Herbs, vegetables and wheat. Banana, herbs, cereal. A bit stickier than the base version.

Cristobal37 (1269) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 3, 2017
Bb 5-2018. Dark orangey bronze, not a lot of head. Spicy doughy yeast aroma. Crisp with ample co2, wheaty, caramel, filling. Not a lot of flavor, oily palate. Appearance and body are fine but the taste is weak somehow. Kinda what I expect from Erdinger, drinkable at best.

kraddel (9210) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - NOV 28, 2017
Pours medium-clear. Smell is unintense, very mild wheat, don't get much else, even. Taste is full, surprisingly bitter. Rather dense MF, with not too much phenols nor esthers. Slightly hoppy, even. Creamy body, rather low carbo.

onceblind (10704) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 25, 2017
Slightly hazy deep golden with a thin fuzzy white cap. Wheaty bready and slightly fruity (cranberry?) aroma. Smooth biscuity wheaty flavor that’s a little Munich-malty and slightly cranberry fruity just like the nose, though it’s in no way overt or anything, just kind of a vague slight fruitiness.

Thanks to Kraddel / Beerlover_Ben. Draft glass. Hazy orange, big white head. Nose is all sweet plastic, muted, even the banana doesn’t pop, esters, sugar, basic sweet sugar. Body is thick plastic. Very unexciting & strangely similar to their other beers.

Bottle into pint glass. Hazy burnt orange color w decent head. Can’t smell much as my hands are Smokey from making a fire. Taste is v yeasty with strong malt and minimal hop. I was expecting a bit more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Birthday bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker; thanks to Anke & family!
Best before: May 2017.
Pours hazy dark golden with a diminishing, frothy, white head. The aroma contains wheat, apple, hops & spices, banana & caramel, some iron. It tastes medium sweet and light to medium hoppy bitter; dry and wheaty finish. Light/medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. An unusual Hefeweizen, though nothing unexpected. Okay.

Good winter Weisse bier. Not the same banana clove flavor. Just smooth and subtle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
