With a slightly darker color and slightly higher alcohol content than the classic ERDINGER Weissbier 'with fine yeast', the 'winter brew' offers a really pleasant change at the coldest time of the year, a time when we like to treat ourselves to something special. Available between November and February.

Bottle. Cloudy orange (dark golden) color with a big white head. Fruit and wheat aroma. Sweet flavours, spicy vanilla banana flavours nad wheat.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a dense white head. Slight orange fruity and mild wheaty aroma. Flavour holds more of the same orange fruitiness and a mild citric flavour with a very subdued wheat note. Slight citric and bitter finish with a mild wheat note lingering into the far finish.

[At Jyske Øldage 2004, Kolding] An unclear orange beer with a nice off-white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of wheat. The flavor is flat, boring, and of wheat. Very plain.

Bottled (from beerangel.de in January). Slightly hazy golden colour with mediumsized foamy/fluffy white head. Vanishes quite fast leaving a small thick creamy head. Nice lace. Aroma is wheat, some slight citrusfruits and banana and some yeastyness. Flavour is quite much the same, but also has some mild herbal notes to it.

Bottle at home ... every so slight hazy yellow big short lived foam head ... nice wheat nose ... juicy hop with some banana tones ... touch of dry hoppy lagerness ... little peppery

Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 27, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) Dark golden with a surprisingly thin head. Less fruity and citrusy fresh than the typical Hefe - this resembles a traditional lager or Kristall Weizen. Not very full-bodied. This has less of most things, in a Christmas beer I would expect more. 270900

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes orange-goldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, fruchtig, bananig. Geschmack hefig, bananig fruchtig, minimal würzig.

Rasmus40 (22168) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - FEB 10, 2011
Clear orange with a huge white head. Aroma is sweet, wheaty and fruity. Flavor is rather sweet and light bitter. Finishes sweet. Weaker than other hefe-weizens including Erdingers regular. 100211

Koelschtrinker (22074) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 19, 2011
Hefiger, etwas schaler Geruch. Test vom 7.2.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,9,9,9,12,9 - 9,15

fiulijn (21511) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 3, 2004
Hazy blond color; exaggerated creamy head. Sweet malt and wax aroma, light. Malty, quite sweet; light Weizen characteristics. Dry balanced final, with hop notes. Drinkable, simple.
