ERDINGER Urweisse – in good old Bavarian tradition
A cause for celebration among weissbier fans!
A particularly strong, spicy aroma, a distinctive yeast flavor and an unmistakable top-fermenting beer profile - these are the characteristics of ERDINGER’s new family member in good old Bavarian tradition. The recipe for Urweisse dates back to the brewery’s founding days over 120 years ago. It owes its distinctive, traditional weissbier flavor to a special malt, a different hop variety and a special yeast.
And as appearance is just as important, Urweisse has been given its own special look - which will especially please all friends of the "good old Bavarian tradition". The label features the historic "Beautiful Tower" of Erding. The Euro bottle and original glass awake memories of days gone by. The new crate is also particularly eye-catching with its historic wooden look and "scorched" lettering.
Best is to simply taste it for yourself! ERDINGER Urweisse is available in Bavaria from January 1, 2008 and from February 1 in Baden-Württemberg. Presentation cartons are available in the ERDINGER Fan Shop from January onward.

Cloudy orange/amber colour, with persistent white head and high carbonation. Lots of banana on the aroma, some citrus and clove. Taste is very rich in banana and citrus. Spice and clove also present.

Bottle from Doener Leesburg. Pours golden with a thin white head. Doesn’t leave much lacing. Banana on the nose and tongue. Clove is faint on the tongue. Runs a bit dry for the style. Finishes clean. Eh!

Brotiger Nachgeschmack.

RexTalionis (3775) - FINLAND - MAY 20, 2014
Draught. Pours hazy orange in color with a whitish head. Fruity banana, some wheat and and light rubbery infused stone fruits in aroma. Notes of banana, some slightly yeasty notes mixed with fruity wheatyness in taste. As the temperature outside was above 10 degrees, yay considering the wintery conditions lately, this seemed like a good thirstquencher for the moment.

Ciemno-złote, mętne piwo o ładnej choć nietrwałej pianie. W aromacie owocowe, delikatnie goździkowe. W smaku kwaskowe, delikatnie goryczkowe z wyraźną nutą chlebową.

massingasetta (744) - München, GERMANY - MAY 15, 2014
Kein Lieblingsbier.

rauchbier (3902) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - MAY 14, 2014
Bottle, from Rhythm & Booze, Cottingham. Cloudy orange gold, big fluffy and sustained white head and good condition. Pleasant estery yeast and cloves with a touch of banana and caramel in the nose, full and spicy in the mouth with a fruity sweetness and a chalky yeast note mingled with a low ester note, finish is chalky yeast and slight lingering fruity banana, not that bad for an Erdinger.

Golden brown beer with a white head. Strong ripe banana on the nose. Crispy yet foamy mouth feel in a watery body. Banana notes in the taste but finishes bland.
