ERDINGER Urweisse – in good old Bavarian tradition
A cause for celebration among weissbier fans!
A particularly strong, spicy aroma, a distinctive yeast flavor and an unmistakable top-fermenting beer profile - these are the characteristics of ERDINGER’s new family member in good old Bavarian tradition. The recipe for Urweisse dates back to the brewery’s founding days over 120 years ago. It owes its distinctive, traditional weissbier flavor to a special malt, a different hop variety and a special yeast.
And as appearance is just as important, Urweisse has been given its own special look - which will especially please all friends of the "good old Bavarian tradition". The label features the historic "Beautiful Tower" of Erding. The Euro bottle and original glass awake memories of days gone by. The new crate is also particularly eye-catching with its historic wooden look and "scorched" lettering.
Best is to simply taste it for yourself! ERDINGER Urweisse is available in Bavaria from January 1, 2008 and from February 1 in Baden-Württemberg. Presentation cartons are available in the ERDINGER Fan Shop from January onward.

Prachtige oranje kleur met een volle schuimkraag. Frisse weissen geur met tonen van mouten. Smaakt fris en iets dun van smaak. Lekkere iets zure afdronk. Smaakt als een lichte weissen.

martjoobolut (5239) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 16, 2017
Bottle (thanks Marduk). Street ticks. Aroma is banana, wheat, sweetness, potatoes. Flavor follows the nose. Overall: drinkable.

Marduk (8517) - Reval, ESTONIA - DEC 16, 2017
500ml bottle (thanks Viil). Hazy yellowish color. Medium size, beige head, stays. Minerals, wheaty, sweet and caramel in aroma. Caramel, wheaty, sweet and mild touch of smokiness. Wheat and caramelly in aftertaste. Smoke is very hidden. Weird brew.

So sour. Really didn't like it. Its not surprising considering Hefeweizen isn't my style of beer. Pretty flat. Leaves small tingling sensation on tongue. Sour after taste lingers.

YantarCoast (1565) - Moscow, RUSSIA - NOV 30, 2017
500ml bottle from RusBeerShop. Cheers to vinivini for the tip on where to find this one. Pours cloudy gold with a large white head. Aroma is yeast, bananas, wheat. Taste is fruity, light spiciness, wheat, light bitter.

kraddel (9210) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - NOV 28, 2017
Pours unclear, very hazy, warm blonde. Creamy, big white head. Very stable. Smell is banana, esthers, medium intense. Taste is much lighter, some banana esthers that really build up. Milder phenols. Medium-creamy MF. Medium-low carbo. Tad bitter. OK .

Hazy amber color with high and lasting white head.
Aroma: wheat
Taste: medium sweet

vinivini (3081) - Gomel, BELARUS - NOV 18, 2017
Bottle. Cloudy gokden pour with abundant white head. Eternal retention. Aroma: big dried banana, clove, wheat & fruit. Beautiful. Light to medium body. Medium dry taste. Bready, spicy, fruity, banana. Dry spicy finish. Light bitterness. Extremely drinkable. Highest class weizen.

BrewWhatIWant (316) - Ontario, CANADA - NOV 16, 2017
Pours slightly hazy, deep amber with a big white head. Aroma is light banana and cloves. Taste is sweet and a little sour. Prominent bready malt and clove notes with a little banana, toffee and herbal hops. A bit of a metallic aftertaste. Medium bodied with plenty of carbonation. It might be traditional but it’s not a good blend of flavours.

The best beer in the world. Everything about is perfect, I've never found another beer that comes close.

Aurelius (5590) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - NOV 10, 2017
Shorty, brown 500 mL bottle, fair label. Huge, huge, ice cream, sticky ivory head on a misty, dirty blonde pour. Doughy, belgian-yeasty aroma with mild banana esters, slightly funky. Straw bitter, doughy, faintly tart, slightly sweet. Kinda flabby mouthfeel, doesn't retain carbonation well. Lightish body, implied diacetyl in the finish. Pastry notes abound. Part of a mixpack, including the bulbous weizenglass from which it was consumed. One bonus appearance point for the cool glass.
