The Premium Weissbier at the top of its class. Not only in the context of the Erdinger assortment Erdinger Weissbier with fine yeast applies undisputed as the classical authors, as the white beer absolutely. It is brewed with fine yeast after a delivered prescription and naturally strictly after the Bavarian purity requirement. Today still without the traditional bottle fermentation one does not do here: Three to four weeks it lasts, until the Erdinger Weissbier with fine yeast matured. For the production only finest raw materials are used. Experience of many years and constant quality controls guarantee beyond that the unmistakable taste. A Weissbier for all, those the unforgettable good taste love.

500ml bottle. Hazy golden with one finger white head. Aroma of light yeast, citrus and wheat a light spicy touch. Taste is predominantly sweet wheat with light yesstiness, citrus, banana and a minimal clove touch. Smooth medium mouthfeel, light carbonation and light wheat aftertaste.

Poured from a 50cl bottle at home. Orange-gold, white head. Wheat and grain, and a slight banana flavour. Medium body...I think, as carbonation is truly lively, which I don’t find too bad, but it does dominate most feeling of texture.

Hmmm. Brewed to be inoffensive unfortunately. Soft aroma of wheat and malt. Soft mouthfeel. Just soft really. No real distinguishing features. Drinkable but boring. The Dunkel is far better.

500 ml bottle. Aroma brings fruit and yeast with a slight sweetness to the table. Flavourwise it doesn’t impress. Slight fruit, mostly banana and a dry bitterness that just doesn’t taste nice, it tastes off in a way. Slight acidity in the taste as well. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel but it only lasts a few seconds. Not a fan.

So lets try this “true classic of Bavarian wheat beer culture”, as stated on their own website! They say that it really should be drank from a Weizen glass for proper usage, but hell I can only go on what I have…….a normal glass stein, but its good enough for me. Also, I must say I do love the logo of the company. Really colourful with the wheat symbol surrounded by striking red and blue colours spelling out the name of Erdinger Weissbier. On pour there is a good bit of carbonation, noisy bubbles resulting in a pretty big decent sized frothy head. Vibrant and alive! A very pale golden colour. Turns a bit hazy looking after a while. Head reduces in size but retains a little bit Got a lot in the bottle, a lot of bang for the buck! Faint smell, of yeast, not much to smell, uninspiring On taste, got a really refreshing nice big mouthful, creamy and smooth. A nice start Big nice mouthfuls, but no real distinct tastes, creamy, but not bad Smooth and crisp enough to saviour, and nice for a weissbier. Nice, I liked it Wouldn’t say there is a whole lot of taste. Can’t really feel the alcohol Tastes of light malt. Light malt, some fruits and of course the wheat Liked it a lot, nice, very easy to drink, not much taste, but filling, and quite smooth. Overall this isn’t a bad beer, but perhaps a bit boring for the style and not enough strong standout flavours to satisfy the Weissbier fans………
