The Premium Weissbier at the top of its class. Not only in the context of the Erdinger assortment Erdinger Weissbier with fine yeast applies undisputed as the classical authors, as the white beer absolutely. It is brewed with fine yeast after a delivered prescription and naturally strictly after the Bavarian purity requirement. Today still without the traditional bottle fermentation one does not do here: Three to four weeks it lasts, until the Erdinger Weissbier with fine yeast matured. For the production only finest raw materials are used. Experience of many years and constant quality controls guarantee beyond that the unmistakable taste. A Weissbier for all, those the unforgettable good taste love.

Pours a pale translucent gold with an equally pale white head. Aroma of light citrus and spice. Light flavor of lemon, herbs (rosemary, thyme?), and a mellow sweetness. Good carbonation and fluffy palate. Refreshing, if somewhat dull.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2017 Bottle.Hazy gold, thick, not too stable white head, some lacing.Aroma malty, some bananas, iron, bready. Taste thick, oily, not sweet. Aftertaste malty, bananas, some cloves, bubblegum. Could be better, the Hefeweizen aromas are not too pronounced.

500ml bottle. Pours cloudy orange with the usual big white fluffy head. Very grainy and cereal in the nose with bubblegum and a hint of banana and corriander. Some sharp carbonation and then a smooth chewy mouth feel. Taste is similar to the nose, but it’s a little bit blander than some of the better ones I’v tried. Some bitterness on the finish with this one. Overall it’s still hugely drinkable.

On tap in Edinburgh. Even by hefeweizen standards, this is cloying. It’s got a nice biscuit and spice aroma and initial taste, but the bubblegum esters and malt sweetness get overpowering pretty quickly.

Leichte Zitrusnoten beim Antrunk, wenig bananig, leicht wässrig. Zu viel Kohlensäure macht dieses Weizen nicht sehr süffig!

Yeast, grain and cereal malts. Hazy gold, massive, creamy, white head. Light sweet. More sweet grain and bread malts, caramel, molasses, medium carbonation, medium bodied. Not the greatest macro Hefeweizen, a bit bland throughout. Bottle at BA lounge TXL, Berlin.
