Bottle. Nose is cherry powder and juice, but with lightly dusty-grain notes; it does seem more productive to think of this as a Cream Ale with some cherry added than a more generic fruit beer, as the base still holds weight. Pours is lightly hazy orange that’s darkened a bit and started to drift over toward pink, head is fizzy and soapy beige. Taste is cloyingly sweet with basically no bitterness or tartness to balance, sugary with less cherry than expected, more malt and some corn character/thinness, lightly floral. Smooth, refreshing light body. It’s OK if the going is slow, reminds of the scores of raspberry wheat ales served by brewpubs over the past decades. superspak (6090) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - MAR 26, 2015
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of black cherry, lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of of black cherry, pale malt, and fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of black cherry, lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of black cherry, lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of black cherry, pale malt, and fruity yeast flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very authentic on cherry flavor as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly creamy/slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very good fruited cream ale. All around good robustness and balance of black cherry, pale malt, and fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering. Interesting but not much special. Nice aroma and aftertaste of cherries and dark indeed in shape entirely. joejames (510) - Jacobus, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 26, 2015
Bottle to shaker glass. Pours clear light amber, quick head, little lace, some retention. Aroma of cherry and dirty ashtray. Taste fruity sweet. Light body, moderate carbonation, metallic mouth feel. Finishes slightly sour and sweet. All I can taste is artificial black cherry. Not good. beersammich (76) - Morgantown, West Virginia, USA - JAN 5, 2015
Pours a nice copper color with a small head. Smells kind of sour kind of bad honestly. Tastes sour and cherry. Not a fan of this at all.

Had from a bottle
Bottle. Pale pinkish orange pour with minor head. Smells like cough drop and a hint if vomit. Light palate. Not good. BeerBillyCLE (12) - Newbury, Ohio, USA - NOV 27, 2014
Beautiful amber color with a nice sturdy, effervescent white head. Cherry flavor is tart and refreshing, not sweet. Reminds me more of a Fat Heads Bumble Berry and is far removed from the overly sweet and syrupy Sam Adams Cherry rdixon77 (3066) - Georgia, USA - OCT 25, 2014
Dark gold color. Cherry medicine aroma. Taste was slightly better with black cherry but still artificial and metallic. Not good. ttoadee (1608) - Austin, Texas, USA - SEP 1, 2014
Hazy tan pour, quick white head. Nose is yeast and cherries. Bittersweet. Middle is sour and refreshing, hint of vinegar. Finish is acidic. May be an accident, but this tastes like decent cherry lambic from my tongue. Try it, see what you think. Travlr (26214) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 27, 2014
Draft. hazy golden color, medium off white head. Aroma is pure cherry. Taste is certainly cherry forward, a bit of caramel in there too.
