Brewed in the tradition of lagers first made in Pilsn, Bohemia, in 1842 our highly drinkable version isn’t just gold and dear like the original. Czech Saaz and Classic American Cluster hops produce a delicate aroma and dry finish, along with a malty balance essential to the style. Follow the light and enjoy Presque Isle year round. You’ve found "the premium lager". 11°

12 oz bottle. I do not agree with most of the ratings on this beer at this site. You guys have it wrong. translucent golden. Smell: light hop, but nice, zesty malt accents. Smells like peach. Taste: smooth, malty middle, nice dry finish. Mouthfeel: Incredibly balanced beer, with an excellent aftertaste of crystal malt freshness. Drinkability: Quite high

Pours dark yellow, with a low carbonation. Smells mildly sour with some malts. Tastes kind of malty with some lemon. Not really a great beer all in all. Had from a bottle.

Bottle. Golden color with a nice head. Not crazy about pilsners but this one is pretty good. Aroma is grains, bread. Taste is well balanced with grains and a tad of hoppy finish.

The body is golden with deeper orange like highlights and a slight haze. Its head is light, white in color and fades quickly. It leaves a thin film covering with a ring of lace at the edge. The aroma is a bit off. It has notes of white bread crust with old leafy and oxidized hops. Its flavor is off as well. There is a light base of doughy and bready sweetness with a stale papery cardboard character over leafy hops. It finishes flat and dry with minimal hop bitterness.

Drank from the bottle, a pale gold color with modest foamy white head. The beer had a very malty aroma with notes of grain, bread, and cereal. The taste was surprisingly malty with notes of caramel and grain, and light amounts of hops; it did not ring true to the pilsener style I expected. A lighter, thinner mouthfeel with low carbonation and an average-wet body. Simply not very good overall, and misleading.

Transfer from BA review on 11-6-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a lighter golden color with a huge billowy white head. The head fades relatively fast to leave a decent level of lacing. Smell – The aroma is a nice blend of a bready and caramel smell. Mixed with these are a lighter aroma of tropical fruits and some yeast. Taste – The taste begins with a lighter bready flavor and a lighter caramel sweetness. As the taste advances further a light citrus flavor greets the tongue. These flavors take the taste to the end, and with a light hoppy flavor and a weakening of the caramel sweetness, the combination of flavors leave a crisp taste to linger on the tongue. Overall the flavor is rather subdued. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather light (as would be expected for a 4.2% abv. brew) with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. Very appropriate for the pilsner style and it makes for one very easy drinking brew. Overall– The flavors of the brew are a little watery and not to exciting. With this said however it is rather refreshing and quite easy to drink. While nothing to go out of your way for, this beer does make for a rather decent session brew.

Darker than expected. Thin head. Smelled of some type of spices, and the taste is inexplicably reminiscent of a pumpkin ale.

Pours a soft and pale blonde with one finger of white head. Nose is bready and malt forward with some musty and herbal notes with a lightly apple-y sweetness. Flavor is meh, bready malt and a lightly oxidized hop character. Medium body and kind of watery feel.

DialSquare (5230) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 22, 2013
12oz bottle from ABC on Betton. Clear yellow-gold pour with visible carbonation and a sizable frothy white head. Aroma is mash, sweet grain, crackers. Tastes are corn and grain. Yuck.

Bottle:   Straw in color, fairly clear, thin sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Soft grassy nose, a bit of hay, slightly sweet.   Minor veg.   Similar tongue, more straw and hay than grassiness.   Thankfully no veg.   Slightly mealy but not too bad.   Not dull, but also not crisp either.   Hangs on the tongue for a bit.   Heavier than other examples, but a hair.   Lingering sweet straw and hay on the exit.   Not bad, but fairly average.   Not too much stands out about this one.
