COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Pours clear golden, low head that won't last long. Relatively mild in taste, with a tendency towards malty notes. Good, though not special.

Foerdifuxx (394) - Franconia, GERMANY - AUG 19, 2017
Clear yellow golden coloured beer with a white, medium sized, quite short lasting head. Aromas of popcorn, grassy hops, spicy hops, light apple juice hay, basement aromas. Taste is malty, grainy, hoppy, medium sweet and bitter overall with a medium bitter finish. Medium to full body, average carbonation, creamy body. Nice.

0.5 l bottle as ’Erlkönig Festbier Original’ at 6.1% abv, best before October 2016, from Koelschtrinker, thanks Roman! Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, dense and slightly creamy, almost stable, white head. Slightly grainy, quite grassy-spicy and minimally fruity aroma of grains, straw and hints of citrus. Sweetish, slightly grainy, a bit grassy-spicy and minimally fruity taste of caramel, grains, a touch of honey, straw and hints of citrus, followed by a short, slightly bitter, moderately grassy-spicy finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Easily drinkable and thirst-quenching Lager.

Had this as Erlkönig Festbier Original - probably the same beer. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts fine malty, spicy, strong, but not alcoholic. Light wheaty notes. Finish dominated by spicy notes, well balanced and quite drinkable. Nice!

Bottle. Golden, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty - lightly grainy and lightly sweetish, faint caramel and light grassy hoppyness. Body is medium, malty - lightly grainy and lightly sweetish flavor, faint caramel and light hoppyness. Finish is average, malty - grainy and lightly sweetish, light grassy - herbal hoppyness with faint alcohol. OK lightly sweetish märzen. Not too sweet - 6,1% makes finish bit drier.
