COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

BeerViking (4798) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 28, 2013
On tap at the brewpub as "Alt Berliner Dunkel", hazy dark brown with a clinging cream head and malt, coffee and apple on the nose. Earthy bitterness reminiscent of an Alt combines with soft toffee notes, and leads to a dry-bitter finish with a touch of fruit.

The head is ok, the body brown. It smells nutty, darkmalty. The taste full body, notes of nuts & chocolate, hazelnut, darkmalty. Overall nice, interesting & tasty. 12/11/12/11/-/11

Draught at Eschenbrau, Wedding. Cloudy brown - offwhite head. Light light aroma of almost nothing. Roasted. Dried fruity. Dark fruits. Light body. Light hoppy. Light fruity. Dryness. Nice taste.

ganache (5908) - New Jersey, USA - MAR 4, 2012
Tap. Pretty copper body with a lacing white head. Light roast and lightly nutty taste, a touch of earth with faint fruit but has that beautiful roast-nut base. Like the others I’ve had from this brewery, a light wooden tone underlies all, even the unfiltered contributions. Medium body and überraschend süffig! Nice!

On tap at the site in October. Amber with a lasting white head. Malty aroma with herbal hops. Dry malty flavour with caramel and toffee. Nice herbal hops. A bit too phenolic/yeasty, unfortunately, otherwise really nice

Beer No. 52 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Draught at the brewpub as Eschenbräu Alt Berliner Dunkel. Hazy dark amber/pale brown coloured, small off-white head, mild caramel in the nose. Light roasted malt, caramel and weak chicory with hint of spices in the finish. Overall a bit too sweet but drinkable.
