Roasty malt aroma. Black body with generous, thick tan head that lasts nicely. Very appealing looking beer. Huge roastiness in the falvour almost reminiscent of a porter but this has a definite lager mouthfeel and is actually quite refreshing. Bottle.

Eructoblaster (4370) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 14, 2004
Deep brown/black beer topped with a nice creamy beige head. Coffee and roasted malt aroma and flavor. Very long bitter final. This is definitely a Schwarzbier that has nothing to envy to the legendary east-german ones.

660ml brown bottle, split with PandoraGreen and gilvanblight. Dark brown pour. tightly bubbled tan head. Mild roasted malt aroma with a bit of chocolate malt. Nice dark roasted malt character, coffeeish notes in the flavour. A bit of a sweet finish.

For each bottle sold, royalties are donated to La Fondation de la Faune du Québec for the protection of species at risk. Pours a dark brown colour like cola, with red highlights, a big creamy tanned head, great retention and patchy lace. The nose is roasted with malt, some coffee and molasse. Very tiny active carbonation from the bottom of the glass. Smooth mouthfeel and medium body. This dark lager tastes not too bitter and not too sweet, with the roasted malt and mild hops. Lingering, unoffensive, aftertaste. A very good alternative to those who like stouts and porter, but find them too heavy to drink many. This one has great drinkabilty.

Pours a dark brown color with ruby highlights and a thick, frothy light brown head that leaves decent lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate, fruits and roasted malt. Flavor of chocolate, fruits and roasted malt with a mild bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, jerc & tupalev - courtesy of jerc. Dark ruby-brown, small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt with a bit of smoke & tobacco. Thin body. Flavour of roasted coffee & dark malt. Finish is moderately dry, with a not entirely unpleasant sourness. Not bad.

Bouteille 650ml (Grand Pingouin).

Bottle, thanks Jerc. Ok, this is getting late in the evening now. Dark brown pour, small tan head. Roast malt, coffee in mild aroma. Taste of roasted coffee beans over a thin mouthfeel. An interesting style for sure, I don’t care for the thinness of it, but this turned out ok.
