[email protected] Deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is ripe fruits, some toffee, alcohol and some slight gluelike sweetness. Flavour is fruity, herbal, mild toffeeish and ripe fruity notes along with a quite big sting of alcohol. A bit diacetylic as well, but not too disturbing. Also it’s bit fresh still, but if it’s allowed to mellow out a bit more, it will become very nice.

Bottled at SBWF. Clear copper colour, small head. Unfortunately butterscotch dominate the nose. Sweet and caramelly with raspberry-like hop, warming and liqueur-like with well rounded mouthfeel. Butter dominate the finish too. Apart from the diacetyl this would be a nice barley wine.

rlgk (18844) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 26, 2013
Bottle at Stockholm Beer&Whisky Festival 2013. Malty diacetyl aroma, toffee, vinous, hazelnuts, floral, fruity, some vanilla. Malty fruity flavor, diacetyl, grapes, raisins, some alcohol.

Bottle @SBWF 2013
Dark amber color, small off-white head. Berryish, blackberry aroma. Full-bodied. Very berryish blackberry, blueberry flavor with herbs and hops. Strange.

330ml bottle (0lhus Stockholm, Helsinki)
Yikes! Cheesecake aroma. If I force myself to get a fruit, I get cherry, but Anna’s convnced it’s strawberry. Hazy red, tiny head. Thinnish palate, gentle carbonation, feels a bit flat. Sweetish malts, rather dull, none of the fullness I want from a BW. Hops bitter in the finish. Very disappointing as BW.

Bottle sampled end of Feb, 2014.
Clear copper color, small white head. Weird buttery scent and butterscotch. Butterscotch, alcohol, whisky, agave taste. Agave and butter aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness.
Not very nice, more weird.

Sample SBWF 2013. Clear copper with a small head. Quite sweet aroma and taste of dried fruit, malt, raisin, nuts and some light vanilla. Smooth and easy to drink. I wonder when this one will peak?

Svesse (8803) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - NOV 2, 2013
(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 5 Oct 2013) Dark reddish amber colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, raspberries and cherries in brandy. Malty, fruity taste with read fruit, treacle, caramel and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite sweet. Tasty barley wine with some warming alcohol shining through. Nice one.
