COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottled (thanks omhper). Black colour, mediumsized brown thick head, that settles into being smalll, but lasts for quite long. Aroma is roasted malts, some burnt wet wooden notes, mild muscovadoish notes, ryebread and mild ginger cookies. Flavour is rather much the same with a nice smokey aftertaste. Rather spicy finish and aftertaste.

Draught at the brewpub. Really black, small beige head. Roasty tar with slight grapefruity in the nose. Dry, dense and somewhat spritzy with clean and rather hard mouthfeel. Licorice and tar dominates, but as it warms and the carbonation wears off a softer side with more chocolate shows up. Finishes with salty, resiny bitterness.

Shared a 330ml bottle with Finn. The bottle was received from Systembolaget e-beställning. Big bubbles to a densely compact, tan-coloured head. Next to pitch black coloured body. Rich aroma of dark chocolate malts with a creamy touch. Dark caramel and cocoa in flavour ending with notes of coffee bitterness. Velvet mouthfeel. Well balance. A fine moment of drink pleasure (Tromsø, 27.09.2012).

courtesy of Per - dark black beer with a huge dark beige foam; nice lacework; solidly roasted aroma with notes of mocha and dark chocolate; a fair carbonation; medium-bodied, sweet and with some sourness; dry and fairly salty with more roasted notes of coffee and hints of nuts - doesn’t fully work on me
