I expected a better beer. It is very risky to make a Belgian-style beer with water avegades Catalan and can pass what happens in this beer, it is halfway. Or maybe it looked a beer without the strength of the Belgian market for Catalan. For that, halfway.

ALIBALI (2205) - Kiel, GERMANY - JUN 7, 2016

0,33l bottle at home from my Secret Santa Lowenbrau, big thanks. BB 09/2017. dark brown color, small off-white head. smells belgian yeasty, bubbly, ripe fruits, some peach, light glueish, a bit acidic, light berry notes, OKish smell. full body, medium carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of belgian yeast, glueish again, spices, caramel, lightly acidic, bit citric, light notes of dark fruits, some sharp alcoholic notes. finishes with notes of sharp alcohol, dark fruits and and some spices. OKish, not a big fan, not too exciting and alcohol a bit too present for my liking.. Overall OK

330ml botttle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 20-01-2016.
BBD: Sept 2017. Batch: 15-061.
In short: sweet strong ale.
Pours dark copper, little hazy, with frothy off white head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Caramel, licorice, molasses, ripe fruit and roasty nose. Medium body, average carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is sweet, alcohol noticed, some viscous mouhfeel, little harshness due to high alcohols-fusels.

JorisPPattyn (10026) - Ursel, BELGIUM - JAN 17, 2016
Small cream-coloured rim, fast gone over fully hazy redbrown beer. Woody nose, caramel, leafy, rainwater, cheese, woodstainer. Some hops, but mainly roasted & dark malts, with a jumble of meaty and other esters, chocolate. Caramel or even toffee in the finish, as well as a vanilla touch. Not very well-bodied, bit thinnish. Well, yeah... He wasn’t very Belgian, the defunct monk.

Normal.
