Gold Coloring with White Head. Cardboard Aroma. Sweet Caramel Malt...But The Taste Isn’t Pleaant to the Palate.. Watery. muzzlehatch (4975) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 17, 2005
12 oz bottle. Medium very clear amber, smallish drying white head...very light, indistinct caramel nose with a bit of dry grass...clean, balanced bitter-sweet body, full front and watery finish...OK. DavidP (1747) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 8, 2004
Clear golden body, lacks a good head. Sweet aroma, reminds me of a sugar donut with a white bread and Saaz kick. The start of the flavor has a confused combination of pale malt and carbonic astringency but after that settles down the malt and Saazy hops come out nicely. brewblackhole (1587) - Muskego, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 13, 2004
Light yellow amber color, aroma heavy grassy , light clean slighty malt taste. Gets points for not having any noticable off tastes. Taste however did not deliver the promise of the aroma jewedekind (450) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 17, 2004
Pours a nice rocky head...surprisingly enough. Head recovers to thin & white, but persists and left some faint lacing. Aroma of my grandmas basement. Medium to full yellow. Taste is hard to pin down. Maybe hay or weeds. Musty. Not really bad, but interesting in a Blatz kinda way, but with more body. I like the brewery, and this beer is one to drink for history if not for taste.

Oh, I don't know...this wasn't bad but it sure didn't tickle my fancy either. Not sure what I expected but what I got was light--better flavor overall than MGD but pretty mild stuff. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be?
Poured a light gold color with a white, quickly diminishing head. Not a whole lot of aroma. No real standout flavors but nothing offensive, either.
Good on a hot day? Pjones6738 (500) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 14, 2004
Golden color with a grain/corn scent. Bland at first, and then it gets acidic as it warms. Not much to recommend this one. Blech. JPDIPSO (6298) - Wauwatosa, USA - DEC 16, 2003
Dark straw color with a white bubbly head. Very light pale malt aroma with a hint of spicy hops, but then again very light. Flavors of light sweet malt. Fairly dry finish. A somewhat typical lager. GermanBrews76 (680) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - OCT 26, 2003
golden straw body, light. thin white head. smells of... well, nothing really. some corn. light and clean. some earthy hop tones emerge. weak as hell. awaller05 (305) - Sharon, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 18, 2003
Actually tasted this one right in Cross Plains outside the brewery. It was a pale gold lager with a small head on it. Wasn't great and wasn't bad just a decent local brew.
