In 2011, 796 beers were entered for the Brewing Industry International Awards 2011, which were held in England. A renowned jury, consisting of experts from the brewing world, awarded ESTAMINET Premium Pils the highest score in the Lager category. This gold medal, which is seen as an Oscar within the beer world, is an important recognition and victory for PALM Breweries. The awards and medals will be presented during a gala event on 12 April at the prestigious Guildhall in London. ESTAMINET owes its premium quality (5.2% vol/alc) to the selection of the best natural ingredients: soft water, 100% high quality summer barley, a distinctive yeast and very precious Saaz hops. Slow, traditional bottom fermentation, a brewing process based on an original recipe and maturation for a full six weeks make ESTAMINET a true Belgian Premium Pils.

Dacrza (928) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - NOV 15, 2013
DATE TASTED: November 15, 2013 ... GLASSWARE: Paulaner pokal... OCCASION: just returned from watching LVRs production of All My Sons--legs were broken... APPEARANCE: tawny, straw-golden body--comes across rather faded--with effervescence of various pacing; head is snow white and lacing nicely, like frost on a winter window... AROMA: the punch of Saaz front row and center; bananas and some off-putting wet rag as well...PALATE: soft, light-bodied and swift in its descent; active and bubbly on the tongue, inviting flirtation...TASTE: immediate complex esters arrest the teeth--apple and pear, most notably--while subtle malts work the throat with a woody, pulpish effect; floral, almost perfumy experience, a beer that dances lightly on its feet, yet it finishes with some grainy/rice aftertaste ...OVERALL: as one of the four self-touted "Great Beers of Belgium,," this pilsner has some product potential--over two hundred fifty years of brewing, black and gold foil necktie, a nicely drinkable flow--and delivers with a delicately complex pilsner worthy of a second look...

Escasa en aroma. Agradable nota ctrica en boca. Tiene una gran bebestibilidad y no resulta cargante en absoluto, aunque es un poco plana.

Golden color with a diminished white head. Pale malt and minty scent. Light sweet malt start, that is quickly diverted by a sharp bitterness. Sweetness slowly works its way back. Fairly thick for a pils. Easily drinkable. 9/12

Bottles and Taps. This is one of the pilsners I drank in my staminee on friday and Saturdaynights. Aroma of grain, a bit citrus even, wet grass. Poured yellowblond with a perfect pilshead. Yet drank this often from the bottle. Taste is pils, grainy, malt, bread. Light mouthfeel, grainy bitter finish.

Had the beer as Brabante Lager. A pity all the Brabante beers are just aliased beers. The beer looks like a good lager. The color of the beer is nice, slightly pale golden yellow. The beer is rather clear. On top a thick frothy layer of white foam is formed. The foam stays for some time, but collapses over time, leaving a thick soft drape. The smell is quite mild and just that of pilsener. Sweet, slightly bready malts and bitter fruity hop aromas. Its in good balance. The taste is better. It is a bit stronger than the smell. Its the same though. Sweet malts and bitter hops. quite tasty and nicely balanced. Im not disappointed. The palate is norma. Light body, medium high carbonation, short but flavourful finish. All in all a simple but good beer. I would drink more of it, if it was possible.

Draught at Caf De Engelbewaarder. Clear golden with a small white soapy head. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Metallic bitterness with subtle sweet tones. Malts, grass and grain. Boring pils.
