COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a fruit beer which uses a raspberry extract added after conditioning. The beer is unfiltered and should be a little cloudy. This is traditional for wheat beers. The malted wheat itself makes up 20% of the total grain.

Hazy orange with a thin white head. Aroma of corn, candy raspberry, wheat and yeast. Taste of raspberry, wheat with a semi-tart finish.

Golden color......hazy. White, pillowy head. Very strong raspberry aroma. Slightly sweet taste of raspberry in the front. Mouthfeel has a mild crispness......finishes with a subtle malt back and a slight raspberry aftertaste.

Poured from a bottle. Poured a light amber color with a thin white head. Raspberry accompanies a malty aroma. Sweet malt entry leads into an artificial raspberry taste that isnít too pleasant. Lingering finish of artificial raspberries. Thin and watery, and overall just not very impressive, which sucks, because I like to support local breweries.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with no head at all.

The aroma is sweet raspberries and honey with a little wheat and malt.

The flavor is some plasticy skunky malts with raspberry flavor and a chemical bitter finish. The mouthfeel is medium and watery with no carbonation.

Overall, this was much better on tap at the brewery. There it was very fruity and one-dimensional but decent. In the bottle, itís pretty nasty. I did get this bottle from the brewery just last week.

(Bottle) Pours a hazy dark yellow color with a small white head. Lots of raspberry in the aroma, along with sweet malts. Taste is very similar, with a good creamy body and surprisingly full mouthfeel. A pleasant surprise!

Appearance: Pours a pale yellow body with a bubbly white head. Smell: Letís test this aroma out. Raspberries, check! Wheat, check! Taste: Raspberry flavor with a light, mild wheatiness. Though mild, itís still hoppier and more bitter than Iíd have expected from a raspberry wheat. Gah! Thereís an odd, plasticy quality to the finish. Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation. Watery mouthfeel. Drinkability: Tackling a climb up to the summit of the real Longs Peak would be far, far easier than finishing this beer.

9/09/2007: Longs Peak Raspberry Wheat pours a hazy straw color with a very thin white crown. The aroma is raspberry extract and perfume. This beer tastes like raspberry perfume with a tinge of slightly sour yeasty wheat in the finish. The soapy aftertaste is even more unappealing than the main flavor! This beer is fairly light.

12 fl. oz. bottle from hopdog via trade (bonus). Thanks again Steve! Rating #36 for this beer...

Bottle, pours a hazy yellow-brown body with little head. Aroma is expectedly raspberries and wheat. Light, watery body that is unfortunately weak. Taste is mainly a wheat beer with overtones of raspberry. Raspberry flavor is not as strong as the aroma suggested. Finishes clean though.

On tap at the brewery: This is the one my wife really liked. Iíll state up fromt that Iím not a fan of fruit/ wheat in general, but this one was well made. Cloudy, with not much of a head for the style. Could have used a bit more carbonation to be more refreshing.
