This stout poured a deep black colour without a head at all. Random soapy bubbles, tan in colour. No lacing. Scents include cocoa, light coffee, white paste (glue), cardboard and burnt toast. First sip was almost un-carbonated with flavours of roasted coffee and malt with a very light flavour of cocoa. Finish is roasty with roasted caramel flavours lingering with coffee.

Black pour with a thin light tan ring of foam. Roasty black malt and licorice aroma with a subtle touch of chocolate. Smooth roasty chocolate syrup flavor that’s bready and a touch medium bodied and finishes roasty and dry and grainy. It’s alright.

Bottled. Near black, beige head. Lemony salmiak aroma. Dryish with medium body and rounded, spritzy mouthfeel. An unpleasant touch of citric acid across caramel and salmiak. Resinous bitter finish. Probably infected.

12 ounce bottle. Drain pour. Black, large foamy head, good retention. Aroma of roasted malt and cherries, a bit of bandaid. The taste is tart cherry juice and a bit of roast. Thin, high carbonation. Clearly infected.

For some reason I really wanted to like this one but... There are much better oatmeal stouts out there. Flavors just seemed kinda weak to me, nothing really stood out in a good or bad way.

This is the worst beer I have ever had. It tasted like musty skunk water and that is being generous. Had the Oil Can Stout version at Sanfords in Sheridan WY.

Sample at the brewery. High creamy lasting brown head. Pitch black body. Mild roasted malt coffee liquorice aroma and lavor with a low carbonation and a long finish.

A weak vanilla aroma. Black with a thin tan and minimal lacing. Dark roasted malts and vanilla with a slightly sour finish. Palate is a little creamy and moderately heavy.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2014 Look: pours a dark black. Brown sugar color head. Smell: chocolate powder. A bitter coffee. Roasted malt. Black Licorice. Taste: chocolate bar. Bitter coffee. Malt heavy. Slight bitterness on the back. Feel: a little dry. Thin mouth feel for a stout. Overall: not a bad beer really. Nice balance in the malts and other flavors. All around good beer. First drank: home 10/22/14

a very nice, perhaps underrated oatmeal stout. very dark and very smooth. full bodied and yet light. very flavorful, oats and chocolate, hints of coffee. one of my faves of the night."

joshmcg000 (388) - Iowa, USA - SEP 18, 2014
Pours dark black with tan head. Aroma is slight roasted malts, not getting much. Fairly light body. Roasty dark malts with a little bit of oatmeal and some sugary sweetness. Not bad but pretty average.
