Now here’s a higher priced cider that might be worth the trouble. A little dusty on the nose, which isn’t something I like, but also some light funk, which I do. Apples of course, and a little floral note in the nose. Flavor is a touch tart and lively, as is the carbonation.

deyholla (11597) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 17, 2013
Sampled at the 2013 Chicago Cider Summit. Pours a clear pale gold with a bubbly white head that starts at the edges and dissipates completely, visible carbonation. Aroma has musty apple with a combination of sweet and tart notes. Flavor is quite musty with more tart apples and a bit of funkiness in the finish.

Bottle. Pours a golden yellow with a vigorous and large white foam head that holds for a moment and then falls off, finally allowing me to pour in a full glass. Slight farm/hay notes – but nothing jarring or offensive, champage yeast. Smells a bit like a very light sour beer, so a big plus for me. Sweet, but nothing cloying, just a very soft straight forward ripe apple sweetness. Finishes gently and quietly, fading off into light apple and a touch of apple skin. Delicious.

Bottle 375ml @ fonefan
Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of sour apples, yeast and sugar. Taste is light sweet and light sour with a dry fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is thin, carbonation is fizzy

Bottle. Sour apple aroma. Cloudy golden yellow color. Slight sweet-sour apple flavor - moderate acidity and carbonation. Very nice, well blended and dry cider.

hopscotch (11077) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 2, 2005
2002 vintage bottle. Looks like cider, smells like wood. Thin, watery flavor. Pillow-soft carbonation. Watery finish. Not great, not bad. Overpriced at $15 or so.

Unclematties girlfriend shared this with us. Yellow pour. Smells of delcicious apples, tart and sweet. Flavor is purely delicious. Concentrated sweet/tart apples. Crisp and wonderfully carbonated like champagne. NICE!!
