4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 25, 2012 2011. Golden orange body. Large fizzy head disappears as quickly as it forms. No lacing or residue. Nose is lightly funky, with bright apples and must. Flavor is juicy semi-sweet apples with some light must. Medium to light bodied. Assertive carbonation. Semi-sweet finish. A wonderful cider.
2014 vintage bottle from Craft Brewed. Pours a clearish golden straw with 2 fingers of fine foam that lingers then dissipates. Aromas of hay, horseblanket, Brie rind, prosciutto, faint smoke, dried apple, umami, cobwebs. Fantastically complex. A symphony of aromas as it warms. Champagne-like carbonation on the palate. Dry and funky with a nice lingering farmy, dried apple character thoughout. Musty. Just stellar. mansonlamps (7) - - SEP 19, 2017 does not count
Really a wonderful cider, but much different than American ciders. The flavor is akin to brie and dried apples. It's definitely funky and hits the nose. It's definitely like drinking a dank and moldy cheese with a piece of fresh fruit. Can't recommend this one enough.

Bottle. Light golden color. Very good aroma of slightly dried apples. Taste: dried apples, apple pie, light sweetness, well balanced. dfearnley (2284) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 16, 2017
I missed sharing this at the last RBAG and a month later, I just couldn’t imagine sitting on this for another 11 months, so out it came. Aroma is bright apple, light barnyard funk, and a hint of caramel. The taste is not as overwhelming apple as expecting with a bit of overripeness. The funk is muted as well, but still there and there’s a light lemony citrus. It’s a crystal clear amber with LOTS of tiny effervescence. This is fucking brilliant. firkinawesome (1) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 5, 2017 does not count
This is for a 2015 bottle I just purchased. Poured and looked like a cider. Almost smelled like a cider, a funky cider. Taste though..............tasted sweet with a not-so-subtle aftertaste of urine. I imagine this is what diabetic urine tasted like before the invention of insulin. That’s right, this cider tastes like sweetened piss. Do yourself a favor and, instead of buying this saccharine pee, read this article about all the things doctors in the 1800’s learned about tasting their patients’ urine. It’s a much less terrible way to spend your free time.

Tap at Beerttoria. Lovely smell, reminiscent of childhood cider lollies some how. Loads of apple, the intensity of which swirls around. Taste is great too, rich fruitiness, apples of course. Can’t rate ciders it seems... very nice though. Tiny bit of sweetness. But just so much apple.

Pours a medium light golden hue with a half finger of fizzy foam. Nose is soft apple flesh, hint of caramel sweetness, funky old wood and a touch of spice and acid. Palate has a lush round soft caramelized apple note that holds firm to balance some austere funky barnyard nuances with tannic apple skin hints and a lingering woodsy spice. Sampled on draft at Monk’s Cafe this beer poured a dark golden color with a small foamy white head that left no lacing. The aroma was musty and bretty with a bit of apple flesh. The flavor was apple flesh, mustiness, a bit tart and earthy. Long musty apple flesh finish. Medium body. Ok. 77ships (10771) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JUN 3, 2016
(Kiev 2016). 375 ml. bottle. 2012 Vintage. Shared by 4. Loud pop upon opening. Pours an insanely lively sparkling golden, more lively than Champagne, huge white head that instantly fizzes way, lemon golden, crazily lively brew. Nose is very raw barnyard & funk, brett, fermenting apples, mineral apples, raw apple skin funk, brett, wowza didn’t see this much funk coming from a cider. Taste is raw barnyard funk, insanely lively beer, apple skins, fermenting apples, rotting lemon, brett, hay, barnyard. So much carbonation & so much funk. Very unusual for me at first & quite challenging. Almost admired it more than I liked but it grew on me and I started appreciating a bit. Dry beyond the massive carbonation.
