A decent unspectacular Helle from the Ettaler Kloster. It is a good Helle but it does not have too much of an own character. Not a bad choice but no hurray.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. 5.0%. Clear, pale gold. Bubbly, white head. Nose has dry grain. White pepper. Some custard toffee. Taste has toffee sweetness, turning very light, dry and bitter. Nicely foamy mouthfeel. Gets a little peppery on the finish. Decent.

I think this is on the old side, though it was chilled in the dark. Poured with a fizzy head that quickly vanished and an unappealing dark amber color. Aroma wasnt too bad, but nothing special- malty beery. Flavor was similar to nose with some fruit, no sign of hops. Tad thin. Would have to be better fresh.
