Why call ordinary lagers PREMIUM? Up at the sunny coast for a holiday, and when in rome, I decided to try a few QLD drops. This one wasn't bad, but $35 a carton was a bit rich. Australia's best lager in 1993. WOW.
Thought this had a good flavour at first, good head to lace gold colour aroma was hoppy, biscuit like had I thought a draught beer taste but was a little sour at finish after good sweet bitterness. beerledgend (1196) - Waterloo, Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 9, 2006
Pale straw colour with small spritzy white head, no aroma, sweet malty flavours, hint of honey. Boring typcl Aussie beer. SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - NOV 25, 2006
In the bottle on South West Rocks beach. Pours the standard Oz-looking pale gold with a white head. Tastes semi-sweet malty initially, but quickly subsides to just a suggestion of lemon at the end. Very mild palate. At such a stunning location, there’s no such thing as a bad beer. Nicko (223) - Ashfield, AUSTRALIA - AUG 28, 2006
Orange, no head or bubbles. Stale armpit aroma, slight syrupy taste, abrasive palate. Dreadful. bridge (659) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - AUG 16, 2006
Another crappy oz "premium" lager. Sugary sweet and metallic. Thankfully not as disgusting as VB, but it’s up there.

Aroma of nothingness. No head at all (contrary to some of the reviews below). Flavour is of metal shavings... aghhhh. This is up there with CUB products. How do we Aussies become world class as producing this sort of crap. We are world beaters at the metallic beer taste. thehipone (197) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 4, 2005
Pretty plain Aussie lager. What I suspect is cane sugar lends a bit of a dryness to the finish. Dreaded metallic Australian hops lend a bit of an unpleasant edge to the bitterness. DrunkenCumquat (86) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - SEP 29, 2005
Bottled. Orange, low carbonation and a halfway reasonable bright white head. Pretty standard Aussie macro lager, in the same mould as XXXX but a fair bit sweeter and less malty. vanvenlo (1927) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - JUL 4, 2005
9 June 2003 - Vinuous grassy aroma. Sweet cidery flavour, with metallic finish. Reasonable head and good lacing. Plain and uninteresting beer. Lubiere (14262) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 5, 2005
Golden colour with a compact white head, resilient. Has a nice nose of fresh malt, german hops, and light lemony cloves notes. Fresh crisp malts come out, dryish and decent german hops. Medium bodied. Not that bad based on the ratings below.
