2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
what i gathered from the website is that the ’red power’ version of this beer contains no cannabis at all-- because of all the marketing hassles associated with real ’cannabis, the original’. bummer dude! i was dying to spark up a bottle and put on a beatles record. in the absence of that novelty ingredient, we’re left with a strange german take on the theme of an american malt liquor. from mellow hippy scene to compton, bitch. i guess i’ll chug this, put on some rap and polish my nine instead. yo, i’m about to get wooded up on this motha fucka... this is a popcorn kernel yellow-orange colored liquid, with less head than marie antoinette after her little fall from grace. aroma is freshly torn scrap metal-- like that wonderful smell when you first open a big box of galvanized nails, oh it makes you celebrate just being alive! then come subtle notes of melting nogahide, apple peel and corn husks. the carbonation is crazy with scrubbing bubbles, while the flavor is a poor little unsophisticated donkey overloaded with a great burden of sweetness and overt alcohol. it’s a hard apple cider combined with some bock-like malt flavors, a bit of bread and wine, and a watery feel. not a total disaster, though admittedly some of my animosity was extinguished by the salubrious buzz. rather, it’s merely curious and moderately misguided: like, i dunno, maybe like trying to blend rap music with the beatles.

From XXXII. In Teku glass. Watching Adele’s Life. First cannabis beer i like. Cannabis touch soft and provides a nice herbal taste and aroma. High ABV well hidden. Good body, creamy feeling

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
33 cl bottle, bad looking design, zero expectations. Gold color, clear, big stable white head, alcoholic smell. Aroma of sweet sugary pale malts, starch, cardboard, some strawy hops. Sweetish taste, folloewed by a metallic bitterness.
There isn’t any trace of hemp whatsoever, even the label does not mention it as ingredient, so this is a plain strong lager. No good, boring.

Bue en bouteille de 33cl au Sherwood Pub (Nicorco), couleur blonde, mousse puissante effervescence moyenne. Que dire sur cet étron... Une bière basique avec un arrière goût de weed, on veut du houblon putain !

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle in Italy: Deep gold. Had an unexpected fullness and a smooth texture. But after that it went downhill fast. Malt flavors were earthy and musty, and hop flavors were herbal and weak. 8 percent alcohol built to a burn, and it left behind rubbing alcohol notes. Overall, it was a beefy beer, but it lacked finesse, depth, flavor, etc. And, unlike other "weed" beers I’ve had, I didn’t get any cannabis notes at all.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
0.33l bottle. This could be interesting? Anyhow, this is a crystal clear light-copper colored one with a quickly sidesticking off-white head. Smells a but funny and suspicious? Herbal and caramel with some tones of water melon and tobacco. The taste is also weird. It’s like they have mixed Cuban rum with herbs and added it to the mash. It’s not directly boozy, but definitely contains some strong traces of alcohol. A bit tea-herbal in taste perhaps, heather-tea and woody-caramel perhaps? Ehm, it’s really different, a bit sweet in the finish and definitely not something I need to try again. 10.08.2012
