jjsint (3218) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2017
Cask at the Globe, Leicester. Dark amber with a thin white head. Light malty smell. Perhaps some overripe citrus. Sweetish malty taste with some bitterness in the finish. Lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Pleasant enough but not a whole lot of personality.

Cask. Aroma yeasty bread malts. Pours amber orange with white top and no trace of ruby in this ruby ale. Taste is fruity with a lasting oily finish. Medium body and soft finish. For its name this beer is more old than original.

Cask at Crosse Keys. Amber orange, clear, still, small foamy beige head. Aroma is light bready malt. Body is smooth with light carbonation. Taste is chewed bread, simple sugars, soft bitterness. It’s a classic twiggy bitter. Nice by any standards, but doesn’t set itself apart.
