COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Autumn’s Gold is our most complex and tannic cider. It is made from a blend of over 20 English, French and American cider apple varieties including Kingston Black, Brown Snout, Binet Rouge and Golden Russet. After picking, we “sweat” the apples in wooden crates for nearly a month to allow them to dehydrate and develop deeply ripe flavors. Autumn’s Gold is aged in oak after the primary fermentation, and aged sur-lie after the secondary fermentation. It takes 9 to 12 months before this cider is ready to drink. Autumn’s Gold is golden, bubbly and off-dry. It has a cidery, appley nose, smoky, tannic undertones and a rich, warm texture and lingering finish. One of the great delights of this cider is pairing it with cheese such as Parmigiano Reggiano, aged English Cheddar, or a unique raw-milk cheese from your local dairy. Serve Autumn’s Gold with your main course alongside savory foods such as truffles, smoked sausage, or parsnip soup.

Bottle from the Farmer’s Market in Ithaca. Clear gold, fizzy head. Nice, clean apple aroma with some nice funkiness. Taste is dry cider and funk. Lots going on, enjoyed this.

Bottle. Crystal clear deep bright golden color, champagne head. Aroma of lemon rind, dried apple skins. Taste has apple flesh, light smoke, tannins, lemon, vanilla, dry finish. Very tasty. Carbonation makes the mouthfeel a bit harsh.

Sampled with Linh at 61 Local in Brooklyn during NYC Cider Week 2012. Pours a light hazy amber golden body. Aroma is dry apple and sweet apple skins. Mouthfeel is slightly dry and acidic with notes of apple, light sugar and fruit skins. Nice.

Sampled at Applepalooza @ Astor Center(10/19/11), & a bit more at the Union farmer’s market. 14k gold color & sheen. Smells heavy of acid, wood, & sharp flesh. Taste was not as acidic as expected. Faintly sweet apples are overshadowed by the pleasantly bitter middle. Exceptional dry finish. Just a bit tart. Snappy, though lenient carbonation. More cider then apple wine. Tasty. :)

Deep golden pour with a little kiss of soft carbonation. The nose is soft and quite appley. A little bit of light tannic character. A little bit of tartness on the finish. It’s a pretty straightforward product although it does have a nice sweet dried apple. It’s quite nice actually.

Bottle… Clear golden cider with abundant, weeping legwork. The nose is of fresh, sweet red apples and mild ethanol. Light-bodied and abrasive with busy carbonation. The flavor is fairly tart and moderately bitter. Finishes tart, bitter, and then ridiculously dry. Bottle courtesy of JW77!
