2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
THOUGHTS: Very strong aromatics. But that aroma wasn’t entirely pleasant. It was a little harsh actually.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium amber with a large, off-white head that mostly diminished and left excellent lacing. The aroma had heavy grain cereal and caramel; light to moderate pine and minty hops; light orange hops; and something off. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and slightly bitter; while the finish was heavily bitter and lightly sweet with and average to long duration. There was caramel, grain, cereal, orange hops, pine hops, and citrus rind hops. The light to medium body was leaning toward medium and was a little syrupy with fizzy carbonation and a rather metallic finish.
12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured cloudy, murky amber in color small off white head. Aroma of malts and citrus fruit. Taste, also lots of malts, very sour notes, some grain and some fruit. Is not horrible but it is certainly not my favorite. Darkmagus82 (2303) - - AUG 22, 2014

Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours an orange amber color with a 1.5 finger white head. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to give a decent level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of caramel and some lighter notes of a roasted malt. Mixed with these are some aromas of a hoppy nature. While light, the citrus and floral aromas blend well with the sweeter aromas.
Taste – The taste begins with a mix of some bready and light caramel flavors and a lemon citrus hop taste. As the taste advances the breadiness and caramel fade with a light grapefruit taste entering in the middle. More toward the middle to the end, the sweeter and breadier flavors get very weak and bitter hop flavors of a more citrus and herbal nature come to the tongue. With the loss in sweet and breadiness the body is quite light and the hop flavors leave a quite bitter citrus and herbal flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer initially is rather average in its creaminess with a carbonation level that is also very average. More toward the later portions of the taste, with the loss of the bready malt and sweet flavors the taste takes on a rather watery feel, not complimenting the hop flavors at the end very well.
Overall – The weak mouthfeel with the long bittering hop taste left in the tongue at the end of the taste really pulls away from the rather easy drinking and balanced flavors more upfront in the taste. I would likely pass on this one. AirForceHops (8033) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 18, 2014
Draft @ Sunset Grill & Tap. Dirty amber color with thin head. Aroma is herbal hops and like toffee. The flavor is similar with a light floral hops with a light-medium body, mild carbonation with a light dry bitter finish. Borderline an IPA hop profile worth a try if you can find it on draft and enjoy amber ales. kramer (6991) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 1, 2014
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear amber body under a one finger fizzy off-white head. The nose is a mix of citrusy hops and sweet crystal malt. Never big fan of heavy crystal malt, so not sure how this one will go. The flavor is just awful as far as I’m concerned. It’s just huge and heavy crystal malt with just a light citrusy hoppiness. This has so much residual sweetness it’s like drinking brown sugar and instant iced tea powder. Light to medium bodied with a slight stickiness and fizzy carbonation. I’d never buy this one again. On draft, cloudy, muddy appearance. Pleasant aroma, a hint of coffee with the malt. First sip was offensive after a Wit, repeated tastings improved only slightly. Can't find a flavor with which to compare it. Just harsh up front and lingering dirty bath water.

I’m not understanding the harsh/low ratings for this beer. I delivered on what it said it was. Nice sweet malts of a typical amber with an aggressive hop profile. It ’s okay, not bad. Ed5388 (3488) - Forked River, New Jersey, USA - JAN 16, 2014
12oz bottle from Crossroads Spirits. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a small fluffy tan head. Aroma of expired ipa. Loads of maltiness and old rotted citrus fruit. Taste of sharp lemon peel, old lemon pulp, caramel malt, and watered down grapefruit juice. This beer has a strange bitterness and is really unbalanced. bigrond (1499) - factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 6, 2014
This was a very average beer. It wasn’t he worst I’ve ever had but certainly not the best. ziel (76) - Massachusetts, USA - JAN 4, 2014
Not too hoppy even though it is labeled as a hoppy amber. Has that coppery taste. It is okay. Bricks (1160) - Delaware, USA - DEC 21, 2013
Nice red/amber color. Smells extremely hoppy. Floral citrus hoppy taste, real good.
