A traditional Hefeweizen beer with that great German Weisse flavor we’ve all come to know and love. Notes of banana and clove tantalize the nose and tongue mixed with a beautiful wheat flavor. The perfect refreshment on a beautiful day.

12oz bottle. Poured a golden color with a larger sized head. Hmm, not too crazy about his and not too much really standing out or making this one say, ’hey, look at me, I’m a Hefeweizen and you will like me’.

kramer (6905) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 17, 2014
Bottle. Pours a clear gold body with a large thin fizzy white head that faded slowly to a thin film. The nose is more like what I’d expect from a Wheat Ale than a Hefeweizen. There’s some wheat, bready notes, and minimal yeastiness. There’s no fruity esters at all. The flavor is much the same, very bland and missing the banana and bubblegum flavors that I want in a good Hefe. There isn’t even a whole lot of yeastiness to this one. Lighter bodied with a very fizzy mouthfeel and a short and bland finish. This really doesn’t even cross near to the territory of a German Hefeweizen.

My second Evil Genius beer, I think. 12oz bottle. Hazy unfiltered dulled orange-tan. Massive off-white head, mostly due to infection and/or overcarbonation. I’d try and forgive it, but I’d guess this is just wildly infected, considering they describe it themselves as traditional Hefeweizen. Zesty and soured wheat...not in a good way. Pretty bad beer, horrible for the style. Clearly Evil Genius has bottling issues...

boxofrane (2559) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 15, 2013
Bottle from mari’s. Pours hazy yellow with no head retention at all. The aroma has a musty lemon peel, slightly yeasty. The taste has a lemon lime funky taste. Weirdly tart and not really to the style.

NikkTwist (3345) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 13, 2013
Sample at a beer event at Fado. Hazy blonde pour with a slight white head. Toasted wheat notes in the nose. Fairly fully whole wheat flavors plus a tinge of sour. Bright flavors muddled with a puffed wheat barricade. Decent hopped up wheat notes.

Leafs93 (2343) - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 12, 2013
Pours hazy gold with a medium White fluffy head. Aroma is banana, clove, citrus and wheat. Taste is sweet with a touch of tartness. Medium bodied with a slick texture, a little sticky on the finish.

reggiedunlop (3726) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 10, 2013
Pours a hazy orange with a medium white head. Aroma has some mild clove...yeasty...a bit of orangey citrus and wheat. Flavor is very citrusy...tangy almost...light wheaty notes. Mouthfeel is medium and lively with a tangy orange citrus finish.

keanex (1799) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - AUG 3, 2013
On tap at Joe Canals West Deptford.
Appearance: Cloudy golden body with a creamy light tan head.
Aroma: Slightly earthy with straw, light citrus and hints of banana.
Taste: Same as the aroma.
Palate: Medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: Not a bad hefeweizen, but easily forgettable.

DocLock (11048) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 29, 2013
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours hazy dark straw golden with 1-finger frothy white head. Nose is limey citrus, hops, coriandery spice. Tastes citric, limey, a bit tart, with more coriander in the finish.
