3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Date tasted: July 18, 2013 ... Glassware: Kisatsky Tavern pint... Occasion: settling in for 90+ degree day number five and enjoying Evil genius beer number three....Appearance: hazy iced-tea-colored body, orange-brown and thinly drawn head; a bit like a fake tan?... Aroma: definite spruce cone scents, with some ... Palate: medium-bodied and crunchy at the teeth; otherwise, not a smooth drink but not annoying...Taste: wow--bitter hops greet the mouth with a crunch; the wheat seems to be swirling a confused, middling bubblegum stretch; odd aftertaste of vegetable (?!) banana comes late, but is welcome... Overall: of the three in this six-pack sampler, this hits best, with a definite agenda and a positive outcome; sometimes the tap lures us to the bottle and the bottle doesn’t reward, much like the first full-length LP from the opening band you were surprisingly moved toward; I enjoyed this nonetheless....
Not my favorite EGB brew. Not because the beer is that bad, but I am just not into this flavor of beer. I am simply not a big fan of the saison style. hopdog (12816) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 21, 2015
12oz bottle. Poured a golden color with an averaged sized head. Toasted grains, citrus, and some spicy finish. smt1203 (1) - - NOV 14, 2014 does not count
Actually better than other reviews suggested. Doesn't linger on the palate too long. hfmejias (1283) - Marshall, Minnesota, USA - NOV 7, 2014
12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured dark gold, clear, small white head, some lacing one the glass. Aroma is fruity, and hoppy. Taste is bitter, some lemon notes, some malts and some yeast. Actually not bad, enjoyable. bigrond (1499) - factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 30, 2014
very average except for the alcohol content. I’m definitely going to try more of this brewer. Most of there beers are pretty good. This one is a near miss

One of the weirdest, in a bad way, aftertastes I’ve ever had! Aroma has some nice floral hops & the pour is a cloudy gold w/ a thin white head & spotty lacing. The taste is lightly hopped upfront but the finish is quite off putting w/ a very strange bitterness. The 7+ % abv is hidden well but this is not easy on the palate. Not good! strongpieman (1651) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - SEP 18, 2014
Bottle. Clear, yellow beer with a light head. Light body, hoppiness, not too strong but bitter. Overall pretty good and true to style ganache (6001) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 28, 2014
Bottle BORN ON 2014-04-10. Nose is lemony, touch of vanilla, strong citrus hops, wheat, soft and a good blend of styles. Coriander? Definite spice. Some good fruit rind and caramel, very light wood from the hops.Pours very bold, rich golden with a soapy beige head. Crisp and very spicy body, sweet but smooth and not overdone, some wheat, soft with light malt and sweet, very fresh hops. Faint tartness and bitterness. Clean and does a better job than most at bridging the gap. callmemickey (4549) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 14, 2014
Hazy golden colored body, medium sized white head and spotty lacing. Lemon, orange zest, light grainy cereals, pepper, yeast spice. Medium to light bodied with lively carbonation, semi-dry finish, a tad muddled with mild bitterness in the finish. thornecb (5989) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 21, 2014
Pours gold into a shaker. Bright white head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Coriander and wheat aromas. Dry with sweet coriander and grass upfront turning to bitter seed in the lasting finish.
