UPDATED: NOV 11, 2015 CJ Beer Festival. Good Mix. Sweet, but a bit watery, like a pumpkin Yoohoo. Par for evil genius. cwill (93) - Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 7, 2015
First tried at King of Prussia Beerfest Royal and for me, it was the hit of the show. Found a six pack at Wegmans a few days later. Aromas of chocolate and spice. Tastes of chocolate, toasty malts and pumpkin spices with a hint of roasted coffee. Mediem body with low carbonation. As far as I’m concerned, Evil Genius nailed this one. It’s absolutely delicious if you like this style. TheHopster (1111) - Netcong, New Jersey, USA - OCT 3, 2015
On draft at Morgan’s Pier in Philadelphia. Someone had to do it for Halloween; a chocolate and pumpkin combination. Well represented by the porter style. The chocolate flavor edges out pumpkin. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Dacrza (978) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - OCT 2, 2015
DATE TASTED: October 2, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Hop Devil nonick... OCCASION: warming up a cold, windy night with something tough enough... APPEARANCE: dark ruby/black body that supports a grey, thin head that settles to a quarter-inch creaminess; ... AROMA: pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla, slightly toasted dough, oak, and strong, powdery cocoa builds a promise that demands continued inhalation... PALATE: fizzy at the throat, medium-bodied throughout, and slick at the lips... warming and lingering in its aftertaste--the creaminess encourages repeated sips ... TASTE: the cocoa overpowers the pumpkin--not a bad thing--and the vanilla rounds off the profile pleasantly... a nice, earthy spice mills through the sip; some toasted oats make this somewhat balanced... OVERALL: despite other less impressive Evil Genius Halloween offerings, this one hits with a smoothness and drinkability that would have me seeking out a six for sure... the ABV ensures sessionability...I will make this a part of my Halloween celebration in a few weeks ...

Hazy dark brown tan head. Choco nose. Nice palate, rich chocolate taste, minimal spice. Odd finish but start is like a Hershey bar. italianjohn (3133) - Penndel, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 16, 2015
Deep brown practically black pour with a thin beige head .... Aroma of cocoa, light roasted malts and light on the pumpkin spices ..... Taste is of roasted malts, chocolate/dark cocoa and light pumpkin spices .... Body is thin and porter like .... Finish has a lingering malt and some spices mostly cinnamon .... Say more of a porter than a spice herb beer ... That being said sessionable and tasty Maverick34 (3238) - New York, USA - SEP 15, 2015

Overall this is the first chocolate pumpkin porter that I have had and it won’t be my last. It has a nice sweet chocolate taste that I can have more than one of. I would suggest this beer to a friend.
