When two gypsies team up with an arrogant bastard, there is bound to be some criminal activity...better to view this project as a conspiracy rather than a collaboration. The strengths of all involved were utilized to break the laws of style guidelines...dark with deception, mysteriously smoked, unexplainably dry, and intriguingly hoppy...maybe its best not to even talk about it.

This... is a complex one. Spicy and slightly smoky aroma. Pours a dark brown with red highlights. Drinks smoothly with strong coffee flavor. Finishes with smoke and hop bitterness. Very interesting brew.

Pours black with a small off white head. Smells of smoke, spices and a touch of funk. Honestly it tastes like a smoky saison with a slight bitter finish. It is pretty great.

Strange, interesting; Ill try this again. Flavor is strong - smokey, malty, yeast and spices. Complex.

12oz bottle from the Wine Merchant in Findlay, OH. Pours a hazy orange-brown with a white head. Nose is earth, band-aid, some sweet malt, smoke, and some citrus. Flavor is a strange combination of flavors like earth, malt, band-aid, campfire, and mild citrus. Medium in body and weirdly smoky.

Nice black color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of smoky malt, yeast, floral, & funk; Flavor of slight sweet malt, yeast, hops, citrus, some rye, and pepper; Finish is dry with some smoke; Quite different and pretty decent.

It was ok but not nearly as good as their Saison du Buff. The smoked flavor kind of ruined it for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a carbonated looking black with a lighter and thinner beige head. I get a some different things in the aroma. Smoke, bubblegum, fruity citrus hops, Belgian spices, and roasted malts. None are truly dominant over the others, which leaves the fact that they all are more subtle. The taste is grapefruit, Belgian yeast, floral hops, grass, all along with a smokiness that lies underneath. This one has some champagne like carbonation. Medium in body with a kind of sticky texture. Overall, this is pretty complex. Its good, but I think there is a little to much going on here.

0.355l bottle.Dark brown/black body with a nice beige head. Aroma of champagne yeast with lots of chocolate and cherries. Flavor of smoke, champagne and cherries. The finish is smoky and dry. Its one of the most interesting beers Ive ever had. It really has the yeasty, dry character of a saison but the extra ingregients make it very complex, yet easy drinking. Its awesome.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2013 Assuming that this is Stillwaters yeast I let the bottle warm up before I poured it. Pours a deep brownish mahogany with a tan head. A compelling aroma of herbs, blueberries, a slight smokiness, and lavender impresses. The Slightly tart fruit flavor ends with a sweet and savory note. Very complex brew, I will for sure buy this one again.

Dark brown pour at Papago. I really enjoy the play of the hops, smoke and saison yeasty goodness! The hops hit first, then a nutty, yeasty flavor followed by some really well integrated smoke. Good stuff.
