A deep dark brown saison with a thin super lacing mocha head. In aroma, a smooth sweet caramel malt with light peated notes, rye, coriander, orange peels, thyme and Brett notes. In mouth, a smooth chocolate roasted malt, with coriander, curacao, Brett and licorice notes, dry and powdery, very nice. 12 oz. bottle, thanks to Scott. It pours black with an off white head. The aroma is estery and lightly spicy with some smoke. The flavor is dry and roasty with a good amount of yeast esters, but not close to what I’d call a Saison. Not bad, but this didn’t strike the right chord with me. Dark brown-amber with a moderate beige head. Filmy lacing. Aroma of yeast, roast, and sweet fruit. Smoke dominates the taste, and there is an elevated level of bitterness for a saison. It’s got a weird, and a little bit muddy flavor, but it’s still pretty good. Medium bodied and dry. Not bad; different.

Pours clear medium brown color with tan head. Aromas of light smoke, toasted malts, with some citrus and dark fruits. Light smoke and citrus flavors with some yeast, toasted malts and earthiness. Pours a deep umber mahogany color with a three finger eggshell head that laces and sticks for the beers longevity. On the nose the aromas are restrained but nice traces of dark earthy malt, peppery cola, citrus and smoke. The palate follows the nose with a nice complexity and balance. 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown to black color with a small beige head. The aroma has light roast and smoke, herbal notes, anise, floral and earthy notes with some yeast. The flavor is dry, light smoke and roast, herbal, earthy, anise hints, and a splash of dark chocolate. Bottle. A deep mahogany pour with a skim of a tan head. The earthy aroma features some caramel, roasted malts, toasted pumpernickel, light smoke, a hint of anise, pine, and touches of bananas & lemons in the background. Goes down relatively thin to medium-bodied. Light caramel and roasted dark malts upfront taste-wise. Kinda earthy with a charred woodsiness in the middle. Mildly spicy. Aroma of a smoky sock with a bit of spice and rye. Quite a bit of rye and burnt wood on the taste. It is OK.
