12 oz. bottle - Pours a clear brown color with a one finger thick light tan head. Nice lacing. Aroma is esters, yeast, and floral hops. Flavor is lightly roasted malt, pine and herbal hops, esters, and light yeast. The finish is dry and has a good dose of hop bitterness. Medium body. 12oz bottle in Seattle. Very interesting project, strange style but it seems to work alright. Pretty pour, deep slightly funky malts, sweetness, peat. Medium body, black saison style all the way, some wet smoked fish/meat flavors in the back. Doesn’t get better as it warms, but tasty and smart. Dark brown with a foamy dense tan head. Fruity musty yeasty and tart aroma. Flavor is like a beer suicide. Chocolate, sourness, wild yeasty notes and an insane bitterness all wrapped up in one with a touch of dark fruit. The end.

Bottle from Chuck's: pours blackish brown, dense tan head that persists. Stillwater yeast, fruitiness, smoked malts and hints of anise on the nose. Coffee bitterness, anise and fairly dry on the finish. This is a smoked Saison that holds up pretty well but I hoped for a little bit more.
