Clear dark plum color almost cola with ring of light tan head. Fair lightly smokey/hammy notes with a dark roastiness that comes forward at the tail end of the flavor. Interesting marshmellow note in there also. Don’t get the ’saison’ness all that much, but maybe it’s just hidden. Enjoyed this quite a bit, but not something i would feel the need to seek out again. From bottle. Light chocolate malt. Smoky notes and light acidity, hint of wheat. Dark brown clear with thin light tan lacing head. Medium body and medium carbonation. Starts medium sweet and roast, bitter chocolate, coffee, and smoke. Light carbonic tang. Light smoky flavor, not overbearing.

Dark brown to black in color with a nice medium tan head that disapates quick. Aroma is lite and a little boring. But the flavors is a different story. One of the best smoked beer out there.bitter yet soft with just enough hops and smoke to be great. Black pour with a thin light beige foamy head. Nice aroma of dark sweet roastiness, farm funk, hay, dusty belgian citrus, and an overall tone that sorta reminds me of breakfast sausage. Flavor is a bit more estery and dusty than the nose. Lots of saison yeasty pepperiness with dark roastiness and a little smoke, some light funky belgian orange rind and wheaty hay flavors, and a dry semi-sweet dusty peppery finish. On tap at Taps. Pours dark ruby with a persistent brown head. Mildly smokey aroma with a touch of chocolate. Flavor has a chocolate tinge as well, which actually ends up coming through more than any smokiness. The chocolate is pretty hollow though, like it’s a byproduct of making the beer as dark as it is. I get a little chili pepper on the back end. Not recognizable as a saison.
