COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When two gypsies team up with an arrogant bastard, there is bound to be some criminal activity...better to view this project as a conspiracy rather than a collaboration. The strengths of all involved were utilized to break the laws of style guidelines...dark with deception, mysteriously smoked, unexplainably dry, and intriguingly hoppy...maybe it’s best not to even talk about it.

The Perfect Crime is the perfect beer. Nothing wrong with this one at all. Find it now, while it lasts!

12 ox bottle from Giant Eagle Route 8 in Pittsburgh. As black and mysterious as your favorite film noir. A brilliant smokiness adds to the appeal. Perfection!

Pours dark mahogany with a small tan head. Smells both of funk and smoke. Taste is smoky with some funkiness. Light-to-medium bodied with a wet texture and light fizzy mouth-carbonation, Evil Twin/Stillwater/Stone The Perfect Crime Black Smoked Saison finishes with a touch of smoked funk.

Bottle. Pours a near black color with a moderate light tan head. Nose has a hint of sourness to it with some roasting in there as well. Taste is actually superbly balanced with an intriguing melding of flavors. Great beer.

0.355l bottle.Dark brown/black body with a nice beige head. Aroma of champagne yeast with lots of chocolate and cherries. Flavor of smoke, champagne and cherries. The finish is smoky and dry. It’s one of the most interesting beers I’ve ever had. It really has the yeasty, dry character of a saison but the extra ingregients make it very complex, yet easy drinking. It’s awesome.

Coffee and woody campfire smoke aromas. Dark, crystal clear mahogany red color with a wispy beige head. Usually that kind of smoky aroma means a Rauchbier which I’ve never developed a taste for, but here the smoke perfectly matches the dark chocolate sweetness and espresso bitterness. You can almost taste charred wood and grain, but it’s somehow held back just enough that it’s delicious and interesting without being overwhelming. There seems to be some earthy, even flowery hop bitterness here, but the charred dryness seems to either mix with or cover this. Leaves behind a nice coffee, graphite dryness and a little bittersweet chocolate. Another excellent Stone collaboration ale.
