On tap at Capone’s terrific (and crowded) day after Thanksgiving event. Who decided that day has to be called Black Friday? I’m not calling it that. Anyway, this was a really interesting brew! It is a little confusing because there is a brewery called Perfect Crime, but they apparently were not involved in committing this particular legal violation. But there is no infringement here concerning the statutes of good taste! This perfect crime was amazingly well-balanced, yet it seems like a blend. Smoky, sweet, a touch sour, seems like it could have a little peat in it too. It is not like anything else I can think of. Is it an old ale? A new ale? RB calls it a saison - whatever, I call it excellent. malrubius (2986) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - JAN 12, 2013
Bottle from Garden City. Black with lasting tan head and lace. Tart chocolate mildly smoky fruity herbal aroma. Mild fruity tart sweetness with dry herbal bitterness and lingering ashy smoke. Nice effervescent carbo. Much better than expected. Excellent. Knappster (34) - - JAN 18, 2013
What a nice, smooth saison that really enters with a statement and finishes like a clean baby back competition rib pull- you want another !

Dark brown pour at Papago. I really enjoy the play of the hops, smoke and saison yeasty goodness! The hops hit first, then a nutty, yeasty flavor followed by some really well integrated smoke. Good stuff. jcedwards1650 (6) - Florida, USA - MAY 2, 2013 does not count

Black pour with a thin light beige foamy head. Nice aroma of dark sweet roastiness, farm funk, hay, dusty belgian citrus, and an overall tone that sorta reminds me of breakfast sausage. Flavor is a bit more estery and dusty than the nose. Lots of saison yeasty pepperiness with dark roastiness and a little smoke, some light funky belgian orange rind and wheaty hay flavors, and a dry semi-sweet dusty peppery finish. Pretty swell. vtafro (7445) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - NOV 19, 2012
Bottle. Black pour with light brown head. Some hops, yeast and funky Belgian tones, nice saison notes. Flavor is a by more subtle, but not lacking by any means. Ontbeertaster (2362) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 26, 2012
Bottle, very nice aroma, it very spicey, the pour is black and a bit see through, the flavour is spicey and a very light smoke, overall, this one is very flavourful and nice. mikesaum (711) - Newark, Ohio, USA - DEC 30, 2012
pours very dark brown, pushes black, nice beige head and it leaves good lacing. Aroma smells like a nice funky saison, farmhouse notes, no smoke hints, smells refreshing like i expect a saison to be. Taste is standard saison at first with good funky yeast notes, then the roastiness comes in from the dark malt and it has a very dry floral bitter finish, not getting any smoke. Interesting beer, very refreshing , i got what i expected from these 3 awesome breweries. TheCrowsNest (76) - Redondo Beach, California, USA - JAN 7, 2013
Dark brown and crystal clear, medium head. Saison aromas with a hint of roast. Crisp apple flavors with light chocolate.
