pours a pitch black with fluffy, long lasting brown head, nice lacing. Aroma is somewhat yeasty, with nothing especially pronounced. Medium bodied, lower on carbonation than you would expect although not in a bad way. The flavor is a progression starting with yeasty notes, moving to soft, nuanced smoke, and then lingering dark chocolate / coffee tones on a bitter finish. Overall an interesting brew although not something I would have again. halfonit (1366) - Fall River, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 18, 2012
Pours a dark brown color with a little cloudiness . Aroma is of grass, chocolate, faint smoke, toffee, and light spices. Palate is a little lighter than expected. Flavors in this are cocoa, dark chocolate, roastiness, slight earthiness, roasty/toasty, and smoke finish. This is basically a light rauch beer. Actually pretty disappointing in my opinion. jredmond (8284) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 23, 2012
Draft at capones with Vinny, Alan and Bill. Pours a deep brown with white bubbles, no lacing or head. Aroma is faint roast and hop. Mouthfeel is medium with roast, light hop and spice. cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 24, 2012
Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit III. Pours a deep brown appearance with a small, cream colored head. Minty spicy, a bit woody smoky, lightly peppery aroma. Burnt chocolate malty, sprucey, slight smoky/tar, light black peppery flavor. Kind of interesting but not my favorite. dukeredhair (243) - California, USA - NOV 30, 2012
Aroma is smoke, bit of roast coffee, and subtle clove, florals. Appearance is see through brown with thin head. Taste is sweet then smoky, mixed with belgian esters kinda odd. palate is too thick for a saison and falls strongly on the side of the smoked element. overall it’s a mish mash and worse for it.

Pours black with a big off white head. Aroma is saison like yeast with a rye like note. Taste is standard saison with a small but prominent burst of smoke out front. Smooth body, but missing the pleasant lively carb I like in a saison. More interesting than good.

Rather simple and straight forward considering the 3 involved. Very soft chocolate malt and hint of smoke on the nose. Simple malt grain flavours, with some slight smokiness and a it of hops on the back end. Missing any kind of quality to stand out from the pack. yespr (45443) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAR 25, 2013
12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is mild fruity, vague smoked and roasted malty. Mild fruity, light bitter and grapefruity. Vague smoked, almost citric and bitter finish. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - AUG 11, 2013
Bottle courtesy of ericdevin. Light smoke, tart citrus, very light funk. Deep dark mahogany with a large tan head. Light smoke, roasty malt, brine, some slight funky flavor with a very subtle grassy bitter finish. Light body, moderate carbonation. An OK beer, but definitely not in keeping with the bottle marketing. kerenmk (4751) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - SEP 5, 2013
Bottle shared at a tasting at our place. Thank you Excellent Little Brother for delivering this bottle! Coke-colour and tan ring, peak, pen ink aroma, sweet with bitter undertones, smooth texture, medium body, a little roasty finish.
