First came a toasted smug called Yin followed by a hoppy fella called Yang. Let me introduce you to Auld Yin – a wrinkly more experienced take on youngster Yin. 9 months in the company of an insightful, complex whiskey cask made a pretty interesting spin on this imperial tajii taste adventure. Aye!

Bottle at a ChrisO Tasting - London. Pours oily black with a foamy beige head. Big and boozy aroma, lots of dark chocolate, peat, some very dark fruits. Hugely sweet flavor with loads of raisins, dark chocolate, hard alcohol, charred wood. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with some boozy sting, rich ripe and dark fruits, light earthy bitterness, peat. Lasting flavor and deeply sweet, with well-ripened fruits and lots of dark chocolate notes. Great stuff.

Zombeer (59) - New Jersey, USA - APR 14, 2013
This was a great choice for my first beer at Torst. A fantastic Stout with a slight whiskey taste. It was a real slow sipper and I hated to see it end. You can read all about the taste from the other reviews, I’m just here to give this beer the big thumbs up andI recommend you drink one if you can.

DiarmaidBHK (5113) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Bottle from state line liquors. Pours coca-cola brown with a thin brown head that leaves little lacing. Prominent bourbon notes on the nose. The bourbon on the rogue is there but also so smoke and licorice notes. Viscous mouthfeel. Finishes clean. Solid for style!

Foxbush (2042) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - FEB 11, 2013
11.2 oz Bottle. This was a gift from a friend while we were at Snowshoe. The stout pours a very deep black color with a tan head. The head dissapates to a tan collar. The initial aroma is of chocolate with hints of licorice. The licorice is noted in the taste. The carbonation is soft. When the ABV exceeds 12% the beverage changes the dynamic of beer drinking. The finish is somewhat sweet with some lingering licorice.

12oz bottle, liking the past evil twins i’ve had .. . pours a deep brown .. medium head, medium lacing .. . light cocoa, tar, and mild black wood .. . good mild mouth .. a good beer, besides the abv, almost a session .. . . If you think a weakness can be turned into a strength, I hate to tell you this, but that’s another weakness.
