Bottle at Max’s Taphouse. Pours jet black with a thin khaki head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Huge malty chocolaty notes on the nose and tongue. I can’t say I’m getting much coffee action out of this. It does hide it’s booze well but this has been my least favorite, though still quite good, of this series. stevoj (6045) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAR 25, 2017
330ml bottle courtesy of Steve. This was the booziest o the Jesus lineup. Pours out black with a small beige ring. Aroma features lots of coffee, dark roasty malts and some semi-sweet chocolate. Taste brings more roast malts and coffee, mildly sweet finish and lots of alcohol heat.
Bottle from Gambrinus. Pours a pitch black with no head. Big milk chocolate and creamy marshmallow nose with some faint coffee. Soft carbonation with more marshmallow cream, cafe latte, & cacao. Endless cream, coffee and milk chocolate...some ovaltine in there as well. Great stuff. Advocate_Ames (636) - Steubenville, Ohio, USA - MAR 6, 2017
Pours black with mocha foam head that is fine and leaves a ring of foam hugging my glass. The aroma is of smoke, chocolate, booze, earthy coffee, and a sugary sweet scent. Tasting is rather smooth with a full body and mouth feel. I picked up on a mildly bitter roasted coffee taste. There was also flavors of chocolate, sweet sugary malts, and a pleasant booze taste. Overall this is a nicely done coffee stout. For a 12 abv brew it was balanced and goes down well.

Consumed for “Drink It Now” day, hosted by GenDV138. Poured a pitch black color, small dark tan head. Aroma was lots of roasted malts, ton of chocolate and a blast of coffee. Flavor was roasted malts, creamy chocolate. This is pretty pretty good, probably the best one of these Evil Twin beers in this series that I’ve had. Draft... Pours black with a small, creamy, cappuccino-like head. Decent retention. The aroma is all about Mocha Mocha Mocha – and some fudge. Full-bodied and velvety with Key West carbonation. The flavor features tons of charcoal, dark chocolate and deeply roasted coffee. Lengthy, carbonic, black mocha finish. This is really heavy on the coffee. It’s liquid intensity. Too intense for me. Still, I have to tip my cap to quality. klm1 (2109) - Bled/SF, - JAN 29, 2017
Pours black oily, with creamy brown head. Aroma: intense roasted coffee, dark malts, molasses, dark fruits esters, sherry-like alcohol note. Body is full, texture silky, carbonation is low. oobawa (1972) - Tennessee, USA - JAN 28, 2017
Lovely giant coffee stout, pouring layers of thick, roasted chocolate goodness on top of a healthy java backbone. Cherry notes pop up for a second, then melt into an anise-tinged mocha finish. Fades sweet and syrupy, with a lingering bitterness giving up the slightest boozy heat. But no friggin’ way you’d ever believe this thing is 12%. Man this beer is tasty.
