4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours extremely dark in the glass with almost no head. The aroma has dark cocoa, vanilla, roasted nuts and a touch of wood. The taste has a great balance of sweetness and slight bitterness which provides a smooth balance. There is toffee, raisins and a barrell aged rum that comes through. I also get some oak and vanilla that linger in the finish. Great beer.
Bottle from Three Cellars in the Falls. Black pour with a lovely brown head. Aroma has thick sweet and roasted malts, light chocolate, molasses, a bit of rubbing alcohol, and oak. Taste is thick sweet malts, chocolate, molasses, some smoky malt, big bitter espresso, some dark fruit, and light oak. Complex, strong & quite dry. Full bodied, the blend is good, with low carbonation and a solid alcohol presence. Finishes actually fairly bitter despite all the sweet components. Big and complex, fairly tasty. 15 cgarvieuk (25992) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 24, 2017
Keg at torst... Dark black.. Big meaty rich coffee roast.. Heavy chocolate roast malts nose.. Rich sweet... Something odd.. Oh I think it's smoked chilli.. Rich luxurious chocolate roast.. UPDATED: OCT 21, 2017 Black pour, brown head. roasty chocolaty aroma with notes of licorice and soy sauce. Taste follows. Impressive but not as amazing as the cafe version. WillRunForBeer (2766) - Massachusetts, USA - OCT 18, 2017
11.2oz bottle. Pours nearly black with a beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate, molasses, vanilla. Flavor has lots of dark chocolate, licorice, molasses. I don’t believe this was barrel aged, but there’s a wood-like bitterness in the finish. LilBeerDoctor (4194) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 12, 2017

Smooth like silk and oily like Shell. Coffee and dark chocolate. Lots of roast. Black pour with mocha head and lacing. Some chile here but well integrated. Vanilla. Bittersweet finish. Nut. Bottle. Beachmaster (580) - Oklahoma, USA - APR 29, 2017
On draught. Pours black, with a large tan head that lasts, leaving good lacing. Nose is dark malt and cocoa, and the taste follows. Deep, rich flavor, with a creamy mouth feel and long finish. Very clean taste. The epitome of an imperial stout. Outstanding. Advocate_Ames (635) - Steubenville, Ohio, USA - APR 26, 2017
Pours black soft foaming head that leaves a ring around my glass. The aroma is of licorice, tobacco, toffee, smoke, and a good roasted scent. Taste is smooth and of warming booze. I picked up on a pleasant roasted grain bitterness, sweet sugary taste, chocolate, and dark fruit. This is a really well balanced brew. Overall a great brew. It was drinkable, had a good aftertaste, flavorful, and a well balanced high abv beverage. I would buy/drink this again.
