4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Consumed for “Drink It Now” day, hosted by GenDV138. Poured a pitch black color, small dark tan head. Aroma was lots of roasted malts, ton of chocolate and a blast of coffee. Flavor was roasted malts, creamy chocolate. This is pretty pretty good, probably the best one of these Evil Twin beers in this series that I’ve had.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft... Pours black with a small, creamy, cappuccino-like head. Decent retention. The aroma is all about Mocha Mocha Mocha – and some fudge. Full-bodied and velvety with Key West carbonation. The flavor features tons of charcoal, dark chocolate and deeply roasted coffee. Lengthy, carbonic, black mocha finish. This is really heavy on the coffee. It’s liquid intensity. Too intense for me. Still, I have to tip my cap to quality.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Lovely giant coffee stout, pouring layers of thick, roasted chocolate goodness on top of a healthy java backbone. Cherry notes pop up for a second, then melt into an anise-tinged mocha finish. Fades sweet and syrupy, with a lingering bitterness giving up the slightest boozy heat. But no friggin’ way you’d ever believe this thing is 12%. Man this beer is tasty.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2017/01/21 - Pours pitch black with a foamy tan head that leaves moderate, sticky lacing. Aroma is intense smoky/earthy roasted coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate and hints of licorice. Taste is heavy roasted coffee with smoky and earthy notes, cream, dark cocoa, licorice and alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy and oily with smooth carbonation and a hot, dry, warming finish. Coffee centric. Not sure if I would enjoy this as much if I didn't like coffee. Tastes like an iced coffee with cream, chocolate and booze......mmm.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.2 oz bottle. Pours jet black with a 1/2 finger mocha colored head which dissipates rapidly. Aroma is coffee, raisins & dark fruits, and chocolate. Smells hot. Taste is roasted malts up front, chocolate in the middle, with a strong coffee back end as the alcohol warms on the way down. There is a slight bitterness with the front end malts as well. Alcohol taste is well hidden, but there is a warming sensation. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy. Overall a very good coffee stout.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep brown, pitch black in the glass; thin brown head and looking exactly like a French press coffee. Aromas are what you’d expect: a bunch of coffee & roasted malts, but there’s actually a bit of hops right behind it as well. Taste is coffee-driven, comparable to Sumatra + Ethiopian blends; you get smoky earthiness, chocolate, and a bit of citrus sweetness. Finishes with extra dark chocolate with still some lingering espresso notes. Getting a lot of hops after warming up but not sure if that earthy bitterness is from the coffee. The booze is mostly hidden & noticeable only at the very end. Thick & chewy texture, low carb, finishes dry as hell. Recommended for black coffee drinkers!
