3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thick black pour, mocha head with a nice, glass coating appearance and some decent lacing. Aroma of smoke, coffee, burnt caramel, coffee and chocolate. Flavor has a slightly more oily, charred presence along with more coffee, booziness and a good helping of dark fruit and piney hops. Thick syrupy, creamy feel on entry, slightly drier, syrupy feel after that with a lightly chalky finish and light to medium strength slightly sharp carbonation. Good stuff, complex and flavorful, has a nice boozy warmth without tasting too boozy in the taste or smell and tons of roast, coffee and just the right amount of smoke and hops to keep it interesting. Tasty for sure, but at $9/12oz., not a repeat buy, cut that by 1/2 or 2/3 and I might think about it. Too many better beers for less.
Al club de tast de l’Olut. Sensacions inicials picants, com que portés jalapeño. Després s’esbaeixen i apareix el cafè extraordinàriament ben integrat igual que l’alcohol. silencifobic (63) - Sabadell, SPAIN - JUL 11, 2017
Shared bottle at Olut Sabadell. Black with vanilla head. Spicy and chili with some coffee aromas. Well balanced, not too sweet high alcohol but not too noticeable. Dorita (33) - SPAIN - JUL 11, 2017

Sample at Lizardville Westerville during the Evil Twin Beer and Doughnuts Night event on 05/16/2017. Brown-black color with a medium foamy khaki head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of chocolate fudge, malt, roasted coffee and a touch of hops. The finish is roasty with a coffee and malt aftertaste. Good beer all around. DiarmaidBHK (4907) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 7, 2017
Bottle at Max’s Taphouse. Pours jet black with a thin khaki head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Huge malty chocolaty notes on the nose and tongue. I can’t say I’m getting much coffee action out of this. It does hide it’s booze well but this has been my least favorite, though still quite good, of this series.

330ml bottle courtesy of Steve. This was the booziest o the Jesus lineup. Pours out black with a small beige ring. Aroma features lots of coffee, dark roasty malts and some semi-sweet chocolate. Taste brings more roast malts and coffee, mildly sweet finish and lots of alcohol heat.
Bottle from Gambrinus. Pours a pitch black with no head. Big milk chocolate and creamy marshmallow nose with some faint coffee. Soft carbonation with more marshmallow cream, cafe latte, & cacao. Endless cream, coffee and milk chocolate...some ovaltine in there as well. Great stuff. Advocate_Ames (626) - Steubenville, Ohio, USA - MAR 6, 2017
Pours black with mocha foam head that is fine and leaves a ring of foam hugging my glass. The aroma is of smoke, chocolate, booze, earthy coffee, and a sugary sweet scent. Tasting is rather smooth with a full body and mouth feel. I picked up on a mildly bitter roasted coffee taste. There was also flavors of chocolate, sweet sugary malts, and a pleasant booze taste. Overall this is a nicely done coffee stout. For a 12 abv brew it was balanced and goes down well. radagast83 (8065) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - FEB 25, 2017
Consumed for “Drink It Now” day, hosted by GenDV138. Poured a pitch black color, small dark tan head. Aroma was lots of roasted malts, ton of chocolate and a blast of coffee. Flavor was roasted malts, creamy chocolate. This is pretty pretty good, probably the best one of these Evil Twin beers in this series that I’ve had.
