Bottle at The Office underneath The Aviary. The aroma on this is off the charts. Sweet apple, spice, and yeasty clove. Murky golden color. The taste is great. The Belgian Golden style really takes well to the apple brandy barrel and isn’t overshadowed. Drank this with a Green Chartreuse and the pairing was wonderful. 12 oz bottle shared by Davinci. Beejay’s own beers shared at his wedding. Cheers! Pours a nice deep amber orange hue, darker haziness, with some frothy offwhite head dies to a filmy loose ring. Dies down, laces small. Aromas are gentle apple, pear, spirit, and oak. A bit of vanilla, wet wood. Some gentle sweetness, dough, and straw. Bit of spice, yeast. Initial is a bit cdiery, tart, gentle spice. Apple, vanilla, and oak. A bit of cider, some bread, dough. Thinner. A bit tart, cider, tartness. Middle is a bit of sweetness, body, and dough. Some gentle fruit, gentle spice. Backend is gentle tartness, cider, apple brandy. Touches of vanilla, spirit, gentle tannic feel. Finish is tart, a touch acidic, and gentle carbonation. Some gentle tartness, firm oak, and firmer apple presence. Not bad, a bit cidery, tart, and barrel driven. Thinned. Not bad. olr1984 (1500) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 28, 2013
Tasted at aviary. One of my favorites. Dark hazy pour with zero head. Big apple caramel and oak aroma. Taste like caramel apple with a bit of a boozy after taste. Extremely drinkable. zebra (2213) - Illinois, USA - MAR 28, 2013

Bottle shared with the below two jokers at Torst. First i’d like to note that i dig the labeling, especially with the gimmick of increasing birds. Pours golden orange with nice strong apple brandy nose. Tastes of caramel, earth, ginger, yeast, light smoke, and very appley. there is some alcohol warming on finish. quite enjoyable.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2013 Pours a dark orange golden color with very little head. The aroma is dominated by vinous apple notes and caramel smoked barrel (which should be no surprise). The flavor is very rich with a fruity sweetness and the crispness of a Granny Smith apple skin. The Belgian pale character is really subtle, but the beer seems to be incredibly well balanced. UPDATED: MAR 14, 2013 Bottle at Torst. Pours amber. Nose and taste of apple brandy, toffee, caramel malt, dried fruit and bready malt. Great balance. Medium body. The barrel aging really imparts a lot of character on the lighter beer, but in a very pleasant way. Great experiment. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
