bottle. a cloudy honey gold beer with a large, creamy, off-white head. nose is sprucy hops with a big earthy malt backbone. drinks juicy and bitter with a modestly carbonated palate and the abv is hidden well. flavor is drenched with alpha acid nectar and wet earth beneath a pine tree in winter. great 2ipa!..but it really took a bite out of my wallet. Pours hazey orange with nice whit ehead that dissipates quickly. Bready resinous flavor with citrus notes, and a fair amount of bittering. Thick mouthfeel that stays on the palate. Tasted @ 55F from the bottle. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 21, 2011
In short: A bitter, yeasty and astringent IPA with a spicy twist. Fun tasty beer.phredrik (1024) - Copenhagen (formerly Aalborg), DENMARK - JUL 20, 2011
How: Tap at Ginger Man, NYC
The look: Cloudy dark orange body topped by a medium off-white head
In long: Nose is very fruity-hoppy with spicy notes of orange peels and maybe a light coriander sensation. Taste proposes a yeasty doughy body with low sweetness level sensation, orange peels, a generous amount of grapefruity/citrusy hops, some dried fruits, and some spicy notes. Finish is sharp, medium bitter, very dry and very astringent. Almost metallic in the finish. Tasty beer that’s for sure. I liked it. I Also like the name, During at After Christmas is my favorite time of year, it never ceases to amaze me how generous strangers can be during this time of year when I show them my knife.
Bottle, 50 cl from Ølbutikken. Pours clear golden with a slighty off white head. Aroma is full of fruity, piney hops, smells like pineapple and passion fruit, maybe orange too, but also a really pleasant malt profile, a much smoother and balanced malt bill thn many other DIPAs, really pleasurable smell. The taste plays on the same strings, it has a lot of hoppy bitterness, but not exaggerated in any way. The hop taste is very fruity, the same orange and passion fruit thing going on. Again, the malt bill seems perfectly balanced, gives it some body, but it doesn’t become heavy in any way. It tastes really crisp, a hint of caramel. But the hoppy bitterness takes over just in time for the hops to still dominate. Wow, this is exactly what a Double IPA should be. Definitely the best DIPA I’ve had for a long time. Perhaps even top 5 DIPA for me.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup/Pinball. Pours a cloudy deep golden with a white head. Sweet fruity nose with lots of citrusy hops. Solid body, solid malt base, lots of fruit, a phenollic touch, a little doughy with a solid hop bitterness. Nice but not the most refined DIPA. 130711 gvmdw7 (188) - California, USA - JUL 11, 2011
Poured hazy golden with 2" of creamy white head. Smells of piney hops. Tastes a little of lemon and huge amount of hops. American style but light bodied.
