Italy has a certain “je ne sais quoi” – fab food culture, highly decadent history of art and cool countryside. Some might argue the people are loud and flamboyant, they steal our women, and their soccer players melodramatically flop on the pitch. Listen – that’s all part of the secret Italian ingredient – keep it cool, confident, arrogant and extravagant. Forza Italia!

Malt beverage with almonds, vanilla beans and coffee added.

Pours a viscous black with very little head. Smells of almond and chocolate with roasted coffee. Taste is an initial brief umami flavor rapidly followed by bitter roast coffee, moving into sweet chocolate and almond. Alcohol kind of hides under the big flavors, but can be detected. Finish lasts forever. Body is thick, rich and smooth with hardly any carbonation. Delicious, very well balanced between nutty coffee bitter and rich sweet chocolate.

Color negro opaco, espuma beige, densa y duradera.

A sweet concoction with much taste akin to a vanilla almod milk off the shelves, sugar, and coffee added. Medium mouthfeel, a little creamy. more roast at the end of the bottle, lots of coffee.Brown, with reddish tinge in the retained head. Peeno’s bottle, we both concur below expectations though very drinkable.

Thanks rbrazell. Dark black tan head. Atoms of roast and cracker grain. Taste similar. Really easy to drink. I’d like more!

Draught at Breukelen bier merchants. Pies black with caramel head. Aroma is almonds, sweet dark chocolate, vanilla. Flavor is very roasted bitter, almost of burnt nuts, heavily sweet, licorice, vanilla. the palate is fairly full and thick with a long bitter and somewhat metallic finish. Pretty good but not so much depth and with a few problems.

Someone shared this at the RBWG. Black with very little head. Roast malt and alcohol in the nose. The flavor is sweet on a rich palate ending in a dry finish.

750 ml never ending slow gusher poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of bakers cocoa, roasted malt, vanilla, almond and light carmel. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of dark chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, light almond and light caemel with a smooth dry lingering dark chocolate finish.

Thanks to Mike, Michael, and Matt for hooking me up with this brew. You guys rock. The beer is dark brown, approaching black, with a nice beige head. The aroma offers nuts (walnuts, almonds?), roast, sweet malt. Hints of chocolate and vanilla. The flavor is nice. A touch of booze in the finish. Well balanced, with bread, biscuits, vanilla, roast, booze. Not nearly on the level as the imperial version. Still, quite good. I would have this again. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 07-07-2012

Dark dark dark pour with a light brown head. Smells heavy on coffee, sweetness, chocolate. Intense flavor! Thick and dark. Very sweet but balanced too. All I can say is intense. Great.

Bottle. Black, big Brown head. The beer attacked us when we opened. Very chocolaty, vanilla and chrismassy spices, nice dark chocolate and coffee. . Mellow sparkly mouthfeel. Great balanced spicy flavours.
