Pours a dark viscous black with the darkest of crema heads. Aroma is of cherries, dark malt, and dark chocolate. Tastes of cherries, black licorice, dark chocolate, and roasted malts. This thing is so smooth for how big it is. That heavy syrup just rolls down your throat. This thing is great.

Bottle from SlackerMads, cheers! Pours black with a tan head. Thick and syruppy, with liquorice, chocolate, orange peel, red berries, cinnamon, vanilla. High carbo for the style. Lingering dark chocolate with berries in the finish. Lovely!

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2016 330ml bottle from Brewery Creek. Tasting with Jamey. Aroma and taste, surprisingly, hoppy with candied orange peels notes, licorice, roasted malt. I would say it is Imperial Black IPA, not an Imperial Stout. Excellent.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2017 Taster at Mikkeller Seoul. Deep black with a very fruity nose. This is exactly what I expect from an imperial stout, and it gets the rating my love for the style would anticipate.

330ml bottle. A good one to have in the middle of the day if you are a monk and can afford to sit down and relax for the rest of the day!

12oz (35.5cl) bottle at Delirium Cafe, Amsterdam on 08-Jul-2016. Black in colour with a medium sized orange-brown head which dissipates quickly. Aroma of chocolate and malt. Full body and soft/medium carbonation. Big chocolate malt notes - bitter cocoa, caramel, dark fruit and alcohol. Rich, slightly sticky but smooth. Pretty good.

Pitch black. Roasted coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, some herb aromas. Taste is sweet, slight spices, finish ends it with bitter dark malts and dark chocolate. Price tag makes this one a really solid Imperial Stout.

330mL bottle from Beer Cartel. Thick, pitch black sump oil liquid with a creamy orange-brown head hanging around. Nose is quite intense - coffee, dark bitter chocolate, orangey piney earthy sort of hops, charred nutty sort of malt. Body is slick, rich yet holds its weight very well - doesnt feel 10%! - very long on the finish, sticky. Oozy body - inky sort of dark fruits beneath layers of dark roasty coffee, bitter cocoa, burnt caramels, charred ends. A formidable brew - very smooth, perhaps not as big as I was expecting to be a bit picky - its damn good overall.

From a bottle. Some slight rum & raisin flavours going on, thick and dark, liked it a lot.
