The head is medium, the body black. The taste is coffee, cacao intensive, a bit whisky, then more intensive whisky, maybe a bit to intensive. Overall good 10/11/10/11/11/10 stobbe74 (3790) - DENMARK - NOV 19, 2012
Sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2012. Pours a pitch black beer with a chocolate head. The aroma is malt, roasted, alcohol, whisky and chocolate. The flavor follows the nose. Borefts Beer Festival IV. Day 2. Almost opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry. Mild wood. Sweet strong whisky dominates but it’s smooth and drinkable. Mild milky dark malts for a base. Smooth semi dry finish. Really all about the whisky here but impressively smooth.
Tasted at 4th BBF @ De Molen. Aroma is roasty, whiskey, smoke and some peat. Flavor is alcoholic, roasty, dry and with cheap whiskey. cgarvieuk (26365) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 9, 2012
Well i nearly missed this BA version at De Molen 2012 on tap ... Deep black ... thin tan head ... soft alcohol ... light roast nose... dark malta ... soft roast ... too nmuch whisky for me ... shame as i loved the original

Tap @ BBF 12.
Pour pitch black, with a thin brownish hue around the edge, and no head.
Aroma sure is packed of whiskey, slight licorice, slight chocolate and coffee. But it’s all dominated by the whiskey. The taste is a little sweet, med a lot of roasted bitterness. Average body, with an oily texture, and a semi-flat carbonation. Christian (13930) - Odense, DENMARK - OCT 8, 2012
Boreft Beer Festival 2012. Black with a lasting, creamy tan head. Aroma of licorice and roasted malt, with a hint of bouron and notable alcohol. Sweet, roasted malt and licorice flavour completely overpowered by a heavy whisky flavour, like a blended whisky served with a drop of stout. jackl (8556) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 8, 2012
Tap @ Borefts 2012. Deep brown pour with a tiny tan head. The nose is massive fiery bourbon, booze, wood and chocolate syrup. The taste is overwhelmingly of whiskey. Straight up whiskey really. Hints of gritty chocolate powder. Butterscotch candy. Big boozy body, a real sipper that drinks hotter than the 12% ABV. Overall, this beer’s been throttled by the barrel treatment to within an inch of its life. Nothing subtle. Not a fave. DutchDrebus (6327) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - OCT 5, 2012
Borefts’ 12. Almost black colour with a small light brown lacing head. Smells whisky, alcohol, sweet and roasty. Tastes whisky, wood, roasty - no peat. Full body and silky mouthfeel (low carbo). gunnar (9922) - Sandnes, NORWAY - OCT 5, 2012
