3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Market of Choice, Eugene. A really weird idea but came off fairly well. Pours a cloudy golden tan, LOTS of head. Aroma has faint notes of yeast and spice. Yeast dominant flavor, very smooth and complex, barrels, no hops, now yeast. A lot going on here, but very smooth overall, warming is only a hint in the finish; the hops are very shy, the barrels less so. A really big beer, definitely worth exploring just for something different.
Great rich body, lots of volumen and a fantastic hoppy experience. Nice alcohol volumen, that gives good sweetness. Kauge (1976) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 26, 2016
I remember having a couple bottles of this at Koht a while back. Or, more precisely, half of what I bought for myself, and half of what I’d suggested another time to a wine-drinking friend. Half and half because the rest had catapulted out of the bottle despite our best efforts to predict it from happening. Was a pretty memorable beer/champagne bastard of a brew with strong, rawish, green/white wine characteristics and intolerable carbonation. Sourish, bitter. Not one to keep in mind and buy again and again, more like a one (or two) times kind of gimmick. Surprised to see it’s labelled under IIPA. Bottle - Vintage 2013 - Lots of butterscotch sweetness and spice. Hazy gold with a rich white head. Old so hard to judge. cfrancis (3474) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 9, 2015
Pours a dirty golden brown with a small off white top. Aroma is pine resinous hop bitterness with dry oak characteristics. Taste is a bold, piney resinous hop bitterness with dry oak and vinous. joe19612 (2963) - camberley, Surrey, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2015

On tap at Craft Beer Co. Pour is deep amber with a large frothy tan head. Aroma and flavor of heavy fruit, hop bitterness, caramel, oak, grape vine, and sweet malt. Finish is bitter with a touch of wine. Interesting. UXO (1896) - CANADA - MAR 31, 2015
Pours clear medium amber with four fingers of uncontrollable tan head, heavy chunky lacing. (4/5) Nose is red berries, lemon peel, vinous grapes, woody oak, earthy. (8/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (8/10) Medium and slightly oily body, high carbonation, boozy and surprisingly crisp finish. (4/5)
Now that’s an interesting D/IPA - really pleasant vinous notes dominate, and the mouth feel is light and crisp. I was sort of starting to get a little tired of over-the-top DIPA’s that only ended up being malt-forward (Stone Enjoy By 02.14.15 excepted, OMG what a beer), but this? This I like. 1.2.2014. Tuoksussa lempeää humalaa ja metsää. Maussa ensin tuntuu voimakas hiilihapotus, myös alkoholi pistää hieman läpi. Muuten varsin ok dipa, katkeroa ja mallasta maistuu. Tuoksun lempeys hieman puuttuu. Hieman liian hapokas ja alkoholinmakuinen dipa. tricksta_p (4747) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - MAR 6, 2015
Complex aroma of ripe fruits, tart fruits, zesty lemon, grapes, oak, hops. Flavour is light sweet and moderate tart, with a light bitter dry finish. Somewhere between a tart Imperial IPA and a hoppy Barley Wine. I like it! Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - OCT 26, 2014
It’s dark amber with a creamy and lasting head. The aroma is lovely rich fruity and hoppy. The mouth feel is oily. The flavor has a moderate sweetness and a nice bitterness and notes of ripe fruits, alcohol, caramel and the finish is bitter and very long lasting with flavors developing.
